How to Troubleshoot CF-19 The Panasonic Toughbook CF-19, commonly known as simply the Toughbook 19, is a laptop computer geared towards people who work on location, such as field workers or military personnel, who require a sturdy and resilient device. Unique features of the model include its screen which can display clearly in bright sunlight, its touchscreen function and its backlit keyboard. If you experience errors or malfunctions with the CF-19, troubleshoot it to diagnose and solve the problem before replacing the device or seeking professional repair. Instructions Device Turning On Check that the AC adapter is connected properly. One end should be plugged into the laptop and the other end should be plugged into a working AC outlet. If the adapter is disconnected at either end, connect it. Disconnect any device connected to the laptop's USB port or ExpressCard slot. A malfunctioning device may cause the laptop to malfunction and not turn on. Press the "Fn" and "F8" at the same time to turn off "Concealed Mode." This mode disables the power functions of the device."Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart" Error Message Remove the floppy disk or CD-ROM from the device and press any key. This message indicates that the disk does not contain system startup information and cannot run on the device. Disconnect any device connected to the laptop's USB port or ExpressCard slot as problems with these device's may also cause this message to appear. Contact Panasonic Technical Support if this problem persists after attempting Steps 1 and 2 as this may be a sign of a problem with the laptop's hard disk and it may need repairing or replacing. No Display/Screen is Blank Press the "Fn" and "F3" keys simultaneously to switch to "Internal Display" mode as the device may have been set on "External Display." Check if the device is in "Power-Saving" or "Sleep" mode by pressing any key on the keyboard. The screen should come on if the device was simply in "Power Saving" or "Sleep" mode. Turn on the display screen or monitor of the connected device if you have the laptop set on "External Display" and want the display to come up on that device.
