I have a Toshiba mini notebook NB255. My wireless somehow turned off, and to turn it back on, I need to press 'fn' + F8. My 'fn; button will not work for some reason. Is there a way to fix this? How else...

turn on the switch on the front. The network connection might be disabled... go into the control panel, find network connections, right click on the wireless connection and enable it.

Check to see if there is a wireless card installed. Some of the older model laptops did not come with wireless preinstalled.

How do I switch the wireless capability on?

on Toshibas, you have to press Fn key+F8 to activate/deactivate the WIFI card. There might also be a button on the side of your PC you need to switch on.
alternatively you can do it from the start menu, choose connections and open it. Right click on the WIFI connection and activate.
