Format hard drive

This is generally how your format the hard diskand install Windows.
First you need a Windows XP or Windows Vista installation CD and the productinstallation code, which is printed on the Windows label on the bottom of yourlaptop.
Boot up with the Windows installation CD start and follow the instructions toinstall Windows.
Next Delete the existing Windows partition.
Next Create a new partition.
Next format this new partition - Format the partition in NTFS not a quickformat. This will prepare the Windows for a clean install. Quick now if you only want to format the hard drive.

I want to know how can i start my computer over like when i first bought it

Hi
To set you computer back to factory fresh settings you will need to format the hard drive and reinstall the operatins system and the drivers.
You will need to have the CD's that either you made when you got your computer or if your lucky you got the CD's that the factory furnished with the computer at the time you bought it.
1...Format the hard drive:
You do this by double left clicking on "My Computer",then double left click the main drive (normally C drive).
When the window pops open, you will choose "Format"
Keep in mind that once you format your hard drive you will loose all your files, programs, pictures, etc that you installed since the computer was new. So make your back up on a portable hard drive, thumb drive, etc.
2. Once the formatting of the hard drive is complete you will need to reinstall the operating system along with the drivers.
Insert Disk one into the CD/DVD and start reinstalling your operating system
That will bring your computer back to factory new condition as far as operating is concerned.

How can i format my system PC and where to get the software of the formating of pc.

You can use the Windows installation CD to format and re-install Windows.
Boot up with the Windows CD and start the installation process, you will be given the option to delete the existing Windows partition, then create a new partition, then option to do a full NTSF format (don't do a quick format).

Cannot reformat my dell dimension 5100

are you wanting to do the whole drive? you will need to have an installation .iso of another OS if you wish to use it afterward. For a Dell I recommend a Linux distro which you can download by clicking here, and selecting the one that suites you. If you just simply want to format the drive, restart your computer in "boot select" option by pressing F11. Select start ms_dos font, no networking is necessary. at the prompt type, "Format C:", less the quotations obviously. this will ask you to confirm and select a new label. confirm and select any label you choose.
This will take some time. Its not the fastest process and will be longer the higher the disk capacity.

My recommendation is to take the 15 min it will take to download and burn a small linux distro and start to install them on your system. If you dont want the OS installed then just stop the process after you get past the format options. (you should have options to format the drive before you start a new partition.)

Of c0ourse you have the same options when installing windows.

Got a free computer and there is a security login on it. I can't even get to the windows page to do anything. How can I run this computer?

only way to start using it is to 'format this computer' completely as per your needs. then start using it.

you can use 'bootable OS disk' to format it and install a new os.

thanks.

Can't reboot dell 4100 dimension desktop

First put the hdd installation cd into the cd drive and try to boot. This should install the hdd driver as well as start formatting the new hdd. After the drive is formatted take out the hdd cd & insert the Windows installation cd into the drive. Boot. Windows should start installing on your new drive. After Windows is installed check the Dell support site for updated drivers for your system. Install drivers as needed. Any other software you had on your old drive will need to be reinstalled to the new drive. Hope this helps & please rate my answer. Thanks.

You'll need the cd if you want to reinstall your operating system. Try system restore and see how far back you can restore it.
