Question about KitchenAid KFP740 Food Processor

Kitchen aid model kfp 7 The wide slicer disk cut into the top of the cover leaving pieces of plastic in the sliced potatoes. What would cause this to happen.

This may be caused by a number of factors. Most commonly, it is because the work bowl is being over-filled or too much pressure is being exerted on ingredients as they fall through the feed tube. Doing this may cause the disc to come off balance and start sheering plastic.

Slicer attachment is stuck


Take it in and get it fixed, a Kitchen Aid service person will have done plenty. Once you get it off that's not the end of it, there will be damage that will only cause it to happen again. New motor shaft sleeve and the piece that's stuck. Here in NZ they are not worth much so it's never an expensive job to do it properly.
