Question about Fuji FinePix 1400 Zoom Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have a FinePix 1400 zoom that has been causing a lot of problems. It has errors often when trying to write an image to the card and sometimes seems to suddenly power off when viewing images. It doesn't appear to be batteries because I've tried fresh ones straight out of the package. I don't think it's the Smart Media card because it does the same thing with 3 different cards of different sizes. Any ideas?

I've had 2 of the 1400s and never had a problem. Sounds like your battery contacts may be the problem. Check to see that they are bright and clean. If necessary clean them with a pencil eraser.

Fujifilm finepix J32 Zoom error

Had exactly the same problem with my fujifilm j32, after reading a few things on the net and definitely couldn't be bothered to waste money and time sending off a camera that cost a few quid I took matters into my own hands!
I turned the camera on and quickly grabbed the lens to stop it retracting again, once it was held out I gave it a good 'wiggle' moving it in all directions fairly firmly!
I then pressed the on/off button again to switch it off and then turned it back on and low and behold it turned on and worked perfectly after!
Hope this helps others cause it could save you a lot of time and money!

Can i use sdhc class 4 or 6 cards in my fuji finepix 6900zoom

The FinePix 6900 Zoom uses SmartMedia (3.3v) for image storage, and a 16MB card is supplied with the camera. Upgrades are available up to 128MB. The entire SmartMedia card can be write-protected by placing a small sticker on the indicated area of the card. Write-protection stickers can only be used once, and they must be clean to be effective. Individual images can be protected through the Playback menu, which prevents them from being accidentally deleted (except through card formatting).

I got the card not initialized error

If you can still access it using your PC, copy all the images on the memory card and then once done, reformat the SD card. Try and check if this solved the issue.

Apart from that error, are you getting errors like "Zoom Error"?

Zoom error

Just fixed the same problem on mine. This is what I did:
Unscrew 6 small screws around the lens casing and remove the casing (two layers ((rings)). Jiggle the inner most lens casing while you turn power on. The lens moving (i.e., auto focus) mechanism becomes unstuck. Voila.
The problem in my case was caused by the dust that accumulated inside the casing and caused the auto focus mechanism not to move freely.
Good luck.

Fuji FinePix 2600 Zoom Digital Camera Problem

If you have a card reader for your computer, see if the card works on your computer. If it does then try just using windows to format your card, sometimes after extensive use cards can have their contents table messed up with lots of pictures being erased and created. Otherwise try another card to see if it is the camera itself. If more than one card doesn't work its probably the camera, and unless you bought a extended service plan with the people you bought it from your probably be better off to buy a new camera then trying to get it fixed. Small electronics like cameras are very rarely cheap to fix and thats if the manufacturer will even consider doing it

Error message on camera "Card not initialised"

I had a similar issue with my Fuji E500. I had been working with it on my Mac, which automatically brings up iPhoto when it's plugged in via the USB port. When I removed the camera from the USB port, it turned on with a Card not initialized message. If your situation was similar to mine, here's how I fixed it: Plug the camera back into the USB port and turn it on. When iPhoto loads, Got to finder and select Eject (unknown) device. Then, when you disconnect the camera and turn it on, the message about not initialized doesn't show up and you're back in business. I hope this helps.
