Question about Printers & Copiers

Cannon Multipass MP730 Alarm light

Amber alarm light flashing. Message on display says: " Wrong Cartridge"

All 4 ink cartridges are nearly full and are fairly new, they have all been removed, inspected and replaced, snapped-into their respective, correct slots. Also tried turning off the on/off switch and unplugging the power cord for several minutes, nothing helps.

Never seen this before. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

In most cases this occurs because of spilted on carriage of the ink, which run through holes contact (on chip) with the result that contact was broken between подпружиненными contact and contact charge. In specifically fraudulent events acidify the place a contact on contact charge chip or broke the contacts - an ink it is enough actively act upon metal contact. Or (that too meets often) owner printer, having noticed that transposition of the inkwells or strong striking on they help, constant transposition and striking (with effort, in irritated condition from constant trouble) breaks the spring contacts on chip - they it is enough frail, and if press on them with slanting, easy conk, but place of the dog-leg not is always found on type.

I have a Canon MultiPass MP730 that is flashing the Alarm and reads cartridge jammed. However I can move the cartridge manually. The machine won't do anything because of the alarm. How do I fix this?...

To fix this you first need to remove the ink and the print head.
Wash the 4 ink pads in luke warm water.
Keep running the water over the bottom of the print head until the water shows no sign of ink colouration.
Make sure all of the print head is completely dry before replacing it into your printer.
After restarting your printer you will probably see the alarm light still flashing.
Now hold your finger on the resume button for up to 2 minutes or until you hear a clunking sound.
Hold your finger on this button and the printer will fix itself and the alarm light will stop.

"wrong cartridge" message appears, new

It could be due to "waste tank full" alarm; you may need to reset the waste tank counter.
I found a reset sequence for a MP730 printer in this website that works for F30 and F50 as well. Try:
Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter

1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---
By pressing Menu-Copy-#

2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5) Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.

Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 or F50 printers.

"Wrong Cartridge"...alarm still flashing

you have the wrong cartridge type in the printer or you have it in incorrectly , i would need the name of the printer and the name/number on the cartridge to tell you which it is, but it's one of the two

Alarm flashes ink emptyhas ink! color was printing only yellow/green now prints only red/pink!

any chance it has dried out? run the test / head cleaning / did you reset the cartridge when you replaced it? generally if one or two colors work - the problem is the ink cartridge or the head for the colors not working. Did you remove the "tape" on the new cartridge?

Horrible grinding noise

The problem sounds like a broken or stripped gear in the printer. If the unit is under warranty I would contact the authorized repair station for that printer in your local area.
