We use this hub to connect multiple computers to the same printer, Recently we could not to get anything to print. Is there a way to get new drivers for the hub? or is it plug and play with messed up wires?

Re: problem with printers
The switch that you have does not require drivers or settings you can change in it. it is just a pass-through device. you can check the cables if they are working or the ports of the switch (if it lights up). moreover, check also the computers if their ip address are configured correctly and within the same range and make sure that the printer is still shared through the network.

The issue may be resolved by clearing the pause printing in the printer driver or by setting up a parallel connection with the computer.
Clear pause printing
From the Windows Desktop, select Start , Settings , and Printers .
Right-click the HP LaserJet printer icon that is being used.
Select the Work Offline or Pause Printing option (if enabled) to remove the check.
Print the document again.
Establish parallel connection
Turn off the printer or remove the printer from the network.
Connect the printer to the PC using a parallel cable.
Power on the printer.
Print the document again.
If the User Intervention Required message reappears, disable or remove any HP LaserJet software utilities loaded on the system (for example, Status Window, HP Toolbox, etc.). Prove printer functionality and troubleshoot communications; try printing again.
Uninstall and reinstall the driver
After performing a cold reset on a product installed with USB, a higher DOT4_00x port is created, causing the printer to hang while printing.
This is required with products installed on a USB port only.
Uninstall the USB printer driver.
Remove the HP folder and AIO folder from the hard drive.
Reinstall the USB printer driver.
This error can occur if when using a network or printing from a laptop. When the print job goes into a pending status, the printer is either in Work Offline or Pause Printing mode.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response. Thanks. Have a good day.
I would connect the printer to the main computer, network the 2 computers and enable printer sharing. The only draw back to this is that the main computer will have to be on in order for the other to print. Vista makes this easy to do.
Normally the USB hub is design to connect to the device that doesn't consume electricity like handy drive,MP3 player. So in your case the multifunctional printer, I think this one really need a direct connection to your PC,instead of going through USB hub.Try to move some other device to connect to this hub and connect your printer directly to PC..due to many restriction with printer like electricity,port,etc...
it depends on the type of internet service you have if it is cable internet most cable modems can act as a gateway for conecting multiple computers but the cable company needs to activate that feature on the modem.
We had a GE 7 port usb port and it overheated and melted----thank goodness I got up when I did or the house would have caught on fire. The only thing we had connected to the usb port was a APC battery backup unit. Any reason why the usb port overheated?
It was pugged into the battery backup unit and I am hesitant to rehook the computer up to the battery backup unit and also will not by another GE usb hub again and whatever hub we do use, I will not plug it into an outlet!
the computer was downstairs and I noticed the odor of electrical burning smell upstairs---the unit was bought nov 25, 2007 and we returned it to BJ'S for a refund today-----I do not reccomend this product to anyone.
