It wont print, says paper jam, yet there is no paper stuck anywhere? any suggestions?

Try removing the cartridges and drum and clean the big grey roller as this picks up paper and if not it will show a paper jam without paper being in the machine!

Good Luck!

Paper feed not working. green button and orange

I assume you mean that the power and resume lights are blinking. This signals a carriage stall. Open the top cover, if the cartridge cradle moves to the right, it isn't stuck and may be a one-time issue. If it is stuck, unplug the power to the printer. Open the access door and observe the carriage position. Clean any lint or paper pieces out. Remove any obstructions. Move the cradle and continue checking for lint, paper and obstructions until the entire area is cleaned out. If the print carriage started out on the left side, return it to that position to make sure the cartridges are back in the capping station. Look inside the printer along the cartridge cradle path for obstructions and remove any. Remove the rear access door and check for paper pieces, remove any obstructions.

Plug in and turn on the printer and see if the carriage returns to the left and reseats itself in the capping station. Close up the printer.

If this doesn't work, the printer may need service.

I hope this helps.

I had a paper jam, which I fixed by removing the paper that was stuck going from the paper tray through the printer cartridge/drum. Now, when the printer starts, it makes a very loud grinding noise, has to...

I think there is physical damage in side in your printer which can not be fixed by you it require professional person to do it .the thing which you done absolutely correct but I advise you to show it service center.

Error 1200 what is this. I cannot locate my user's guide

Hello Sir, The error on this printer means that the AIO which is All-In-One is stalling or completely stalled. The repair procedure is given below. But you can reply me back clarifying that is it showing Cartridge error 1200 or Hardware error 1200. :--------- THE PROCEDURE:--------------------------
  • Turn the Printer completely off to turn off AIO.
  • Then check for any Paper inside.
  • After confirming that there is none then Un-plug the AIO from the Outlet located in the wall.
  • After 10 Min, replug and check function.
Also the problem can be on the Catridge ( Most Commonly ). In this case you need to check the Catridge socket for any obstruction and also check that the Cartridges are not stuck or misplaced.
Reply me for any further assistance on the Issue.

If the printer is only showing that error 1200 then take care of both the AIO and cartridges reset. Both have to be done.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Printer cartridge stalled

# Turn off the printer.
# Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
# Remove all paper trays and any paper that may be stuck between the tray and the printer. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
# Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.*
# Turn the printer back on. If you continue to receive a printer jam error try repeating the above steps again. If issue still persist and you see no paper that is stuck in the printer it's likely your printer is experiencing another hardware issue

Cartridge stalled

You need to clean the rollers in the back panel of the printer.

Unplug the printer while it is powered on and remove the back panel. Get a damp cloth (not too wet) and wipe off the rubber rollers in the printer as well as on the panel. Replace the panel and open the front where you load the cartridges in. Move them back and forth from side to side and make sure nothing is blocking them from moving. Plug printer back in. It should come on by itself and initialize.

Print a page from your computer. It should now only feed a single sheet at a time without causing a carriage or paper jam.

Is there someting stuck in the printer like a pencil or a keychain, something small that would allow paper to pass but also trigger a sensor in the printer as the printer can detect that paper is being passed unevenly.

Question: does it just say that the ink cartridge is stalled or does the cartarige really stall?

HP 3940 Carriage stalled issue...

Check if it has pieces of paper or stranger materials in the carriage, check also if it's moving freely (disconnect the power from the printer and move the cartridges by hand).
The unit that holds the cartridges is the responsible of all the printer workings (loading paper, cleaning the cartridges, etc.) if it's not moving correctly, the printer wouldn't work.
Probably your printer needs a technician to clean and service it.
