Hi, I have a similar problem, I got my psp for christmas 2006 but in the summer of 2007, I think I left the console in the bottom of my bag, and I found that the sound no longer worked. It worked through earphones, but then I lost my charger, and didn't play on my psp for two years. Then, last night I found the charger again, and charged it, and the screen works fine, and all games work fine as well, except there is no sound at all, not even through earphones. I've given it to a friend who's good at electrical stuff like that, and he said he'll see what he can do, but I was just wondering if anybody knows what could be wrong with it, have I broken the actual sound board, and if I have, what shall I do to get it fixed? Thank you!

Just adding to fixe_you comment.
What he's trying to say is if it doesn't work that way too then is the whole sound/ mem stick board that needs to be changed. But even if you can hear the game through your ear phones you board still needs to be replaced because sooner or later you will hear no sound coming out of the phones or speakers.

What happens is (not referring to you) is some owners leave there ear phones plugged in to there psp and ether wrap the cord around there psp pulling on the jack itself. And or holding on to the cord while the psp hangs. but all in all it happens.

Anymore question please feel free to ask

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Analog sticks on the PSP do wear out depending on how heavily you use it, if its been more than a year since purchasing it, then you could buy a psp 2000 joystick from amazon and unscrew the faceplate and unscrew the current analog stick and then replace it.

Try replacing the battery. Alot of times when anything thats rechargeable have not been recharged for that long then the battery cells weaken to the point it won't hold a charge. GOOD LUCK!!!

Psp won't turn out

Try ejecting the battery pack and put it back in after a few minutes. See if that helps anything. I had a problem like this quite a while ago and that's what I did and it fixed it right up. ^-^

Psp sound does not work

someone might have messed with ur settings. if you go to the audio options under settings, you will see that you can choose which side of the psp you want the music to come from. i'm not sure if you can, but somewhere there, you might have the sound settings set to neither, or hit avls, which doesn't allow your psp to go to it's maximum volume.(i am actually in the middly of a game demo, so if i exit to check, it will lose everything on the demo.)

i have never had or heard of a problem like yours. my ideas for you are probably not the answer, but it's worth checking out. maybe your psp just messed up. try sending it back to the company and try to get a new one, if you have had the psp for less than a year(1 year warranty) i would say ur psp is probably messed on the inside tho

PSP won't come on

Hi pathfinder5x,

Sometimes the little yellow connector gets corraded and does not pass the power from the battery to the PSP. Find something to clean up the contacts on the battery, and where the battery connects inside the PSP.

sorry about your problem dude. I've had my psp for over a year now and I think youre answer to this problem is you need to system upgrade your psp. now this is rather easy to do but sometimes it takes a couple of tries.#1.you need to find A wireless hub,I found mine at the local library, but there are other places such as Mc Donalds or youre local starbucks.#2.you need to turn your wlan swich to the on position.this is found on your left hand bottom corner of the psp.#3.Go into Settings and look for Network Update click on it and go to[New Connection]click on that and go to scan. If done corectly your psp should detect a later verson of the system soft ware click yes to download. After this is done.go into saved data utility and look for system upgrade.now if done corectly your psp will tell you not to turn off or remoove memory stick.the download loads for about ten or fifteen minuits and once this is done youre psp should recodnize your camrea.Enjoy!!
