I'm having problems with my Wi-Fi connectivity at home. I have a Westell 137 router that was just replaced over the weekend per the phone co. to try and solve the problem. If i unplug the power for the router or rest the router, i can stay connected for about 5-30 minutes before i am booted off.
My desktop internet is working just find and is plugged into the same router. Even when I plug an ethernet cord into the laptop and am directly connected, the internet never works then.

No. Laptop and Mobiles are passive WiFi receivers. You will need a WiFi router which when connected to internet will create a WiFi zone around it. You can no connect your laptop and mobile to this router.
Still using same Router with same WLAN protocol? Same Network driver? Never Updated? Wich standard you use? 802.11 B? G? A? N? Update Router site and client (PC) sit. Old protocols and driver are much more densitive to interference. New router, Microwave, Cordless, Remotes can dramatically modify a previously perfect environment.
Let’s check the Wi-Fi card on your PC. Go to "Device Manager" and look if any yellow or red alerts are being displayed under the Network Adaptors. If not, make sure the Wi-Fi card shows up under Network Adaptors. To access the "Device Manager" go to the 'Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management" and select "Device Manager" located in the left side column. If there is an alert, double click on that device to determine the problem, i.e.… device not configured, cannot start this device, etc… Your responses are intended to improve the level of service provided.
