Re: Remote no longer works after opening rear of TV
I think blowing air cleaned the TV but Remote Sensor at front of TV got more dusty and now unable to receive Infrared signal of remote. That's my theory and can be confirmed by cleaning of Remote Sensor in TV.

Unless you are good with electronics then the best you can hope for is that by opening up and resetting the number membrane position that it cures the problem. After that, it's "get a replacement remote" time
Take a camera phone and point the remote at the camera, then press a button that you know is working the Tv - you will see a white flash from the remote LED when the button is pressed. If you press a button on the remote that does not work the Tv and you get a white flash from the remote LED when looking at the remote - as if you are going to take a photo of it - then the remote is good and the Tv is faulty. Visa versa, if you don't get a white flash then the remote is faulty.
If the remote is no longer available, then pop it open with a flat screwdriver and wash the remote with a mild mixture of dish washing soap and water. Then let it dry out in the sun until completely dry and then reassemble to try again. I have repaired remote controls in this way for people :)
the issue with your down button should be a simple fix if your confident in the opening of your remote its either a series of clips or possibly a phillips screw or 2 and a small series of clips these clips do break easily so take your time once open use a pencil eraser on the pick ups to clean from debris that may have become stuck on the pick ups causing issues when trying to use your controller i hope this works for you be sure to blow away the eraser particles before reassembling the remote:
Hi, that is something you can do is clean your
your remote by using wood alcool ;removed the battery open the remote and remove all dust and grease, whit a qtips on the contact board and the sheet rubber wip it of whit a scottowel make sure to not dammage the contact on it. if it is not to hold that should work verry well rebuild that in place and try it
hope that help
have a nice day.....
Easiest things to check first: Are your remote controls working: check batteries; check infrared on remotes by viewing with camera phone/camcorder; make sure your remotes are programmed properly for the device.
Another option: do a hard reset of your TV-unplug it and let it sit as indicated in the manual; then turn it back on.
Another option: unplug the TV and use an air-can and thoroughly dust ALL the component input/output access points on the TV. Turn the TV on and see if this works.
Another option: unplug the TV and connect standard 1/8" headphones in the output of the remote OR headphone jack on the TV [try both]. Turn the TV on and see if this helps.
Finally, if these steps do not work: unplug the TV and let it sit for a good hour. Open up the back panel carefully and air dust the remote control sensor. If this does not work, change the remote control sensor.
Bad filters on the main board or a bad AUX REMOTE jack on the back of the unit (also part of the main board) re the cause of this problem.
Try plugging in any jack that will fit into the AUX REMOTE jack on the back and then pulling it back out. This may fix the problem or remove any dust that may have collected in the jack. If this jack has something plugged into it (or goes bad) the TV will no longer have remote control operation (because it thinks an external remote box is being used). If this does not work then the main board will need replaced.
Note, many repair techs will think the IR board is bad (the Infra-Red Receiver board) at the front of the TV, but this is usually not the case with this model.
You better open your remote and clean circuit board inside.Dirt and dust can caused to malfunction of almost all button. When open already brush it with toothbrush with alcohol and dry it with the use of a hair dryer.
This sort of fault with a remote is usually due to a build up of muck on the contacts inside under the keys, Open the remote and lift off the rubber key pad and clean the carbon contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol. once reassembled you should no longer have trouble. P.S. replace the batteries too!
