I don't see any sensors on mine. It is the DM15C. I looked everywhere. There is a switch on the front inside a slot. You see it when the drawer is removed. A blade like protrusion from the bin goes into it when the drawer is closed. If you press on it, it activates the RED bon light. I have tried cleaning around that....blowing air and such but it doesn't make a difference.

Michael Schroeder answered it here, if nothing else works you might try soldering the 2 black sensor wires together, it fixed mine.

There are two sensors (look like little light bulbs) on the top part of the shredder at either end of the blades. If you pull out the drawer and turn the shredder upside down you will see them. They get dirty telling the machine that it is full and needs to be emptied. Clean the sensors off with an alcohol wipe. If cleaning them does not work you need to replace the sensors.

What kind of oil should I use for Fellowes DM15C. And is there any other maintenance that should be done. The manual was very sparse about maintenance.

Fellows does have its own brand of shredder oil that you can use .... but most brands will work just as well. Oiling your shredder gears is the only regular maintenance that is required.

Broken off DB-0812D mini-transformer from PS 67Cs Fellowes shredder

Purchase a 220/240 volt to 15.6/15.6 volt transformer and run flying wires as it will probably be larger in physical size.
I used a M7230 from Aztronics/Altronics.
Silicon the transformer in place to stop it falling apart while in its place.

It only runs part of a sheet then it stops & you have to turn it off & back on

Most likely the shredder is overheating and/or jammed. You have 2 options: 1) wait--do not attempt to shred anything else for about 15 minutes--and then try again; or 2) unplug the shredder, pull the bucket off, and attempt to dislodge some of the shaving yourself from the teeth. This is potentially dangerous, so you might want to wear some heavy duty gloves and use a pliers to extract the shredded material.

Shredding paper and it just stopped. Light is on and the teeth look clear

My shredder stops if it gets too warm. It will run OK once it cools off.

Have #dm15c paper shredder and paper sensor does not work. How do I replace the sensors?

Basically take the separate the top from the bottom and you can see how to remove and replace them. Usually 4 screws under the top cover. Carefully separate the top and be gentle with the short cable connected to the main board. You can order the sensors from Fellowes.

Novitech shreader

I have the Fellowes shredder oil. The bottle has ABSOLUTELY NO instructions on how to use it.
I used to drizzle oil in on the cutting blades through the feed slot on top, grumbling all the while because it was so messy.
Then I got this tip: Once a week squirt oil on sheet of paper that will be shredded. Do 3 or 4 sheets.
Or do it each time the machines stops for its cool-down period.
I run the oily shreds into a separate bag because I recycle my shredded paper and want to keep it clean.
