I have a Sharp LCD 32 inch LCD tv LC32SB24U tv that I am having a problem getting to turn on. The green light will come on showing it is on, but it will start clicking like it is trying to turn on. Eventually the picture comes on, but it can be as long as 10 minutes. Something is not right with the tv. Is anyone else having this problem?

Sharp model #LC32SB24U set wont turn on. Power led blinks green and you here relays clicking on and off but the screen wont light up. I have some training but need a service manual to follow. If you have...

Hi Monte,

Please email me at [email protected], I will send you the copy of Sharp LC32SB24U.

That kind of symptoms is caused by faulty electrolytic capacitor on the power supply board. It will drop the normal working voltage of the power supply and will disable the unit resulting to blinking led light and clicking of the relay.

Fauly electrolytic capacitor most of the time has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify through visual inspection.

If you found them on the board, replaced it with same capacitance and working voltage that is printed on its body itself. For more info regarding electrolytic capacitor, watch the video below.

Sounds like you have bad capacitors somewhere in the TV. If none of them are bad, you could also have loose grounding screws on the inverter shield. It is common for this TV and simply retightning them will keep the backlight on again.

My LC32SB24U Sharp TV has died after only 18 Months!

Well, the power supply module will have to be the first place to look. Most LCD TV breaks down after about 2~3 years, one of the reason is that the minute is plugged into the wall outlet, the power supply and the processor will be running 24/7 even the TV was never turn on, they will be subjected to power surges, spikes 24/7. I always completely turn off my AC power surge suppressor outlet to OFF so there will be no power to the TV when it is not in used. Parts for your TV:
