Ge space maker Ge model jvm1650sh01. Serial hg 901165b. Mfg may 2004. Cooks fine, but after you remove food and close door it starts running again...for 3 to 20 seconds. Unplug seems to fix it for a few hours, but then same problem returns. Thanks in advance for guidance.

I called GE 888-239-6832 parts line, and they referred me to service. The service folks asked some good questions including, "is it just the fan that runs, or is it heating?" I just tried it and noticed that the light came on but the carousel did not turn. Perhaps this means it's not "heating", and just the fan that's running....

It may be a defective upper or lower door switch (or either switch's mount may be bad) or a stuck relay on the control circuit board.

I have a GE Spacemaker (JVM1650SH01) that starts but then goes dead like it's blown a fuse 75% of the time.

If the microwave is blowing fuses the common cause is a defective door switch.

You have a bad or loose magnetron.

Ge jvm1650sh01 surface light doesnt work/ vent

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan, cooling fan, turntable, and/or inside light operation, too.

Vent motor turns on, but does not draw air in as it should...

the vent tube in back may not have been changed over they can be vented or ventless but you must switch the flap in back you had the answer in your question ... good job,,..lol

If it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free or better still, if you've had it less than 30 days, I'd have the dealer replace it.
