Control Panel Installation

I want to replace the control panel on our Bosch WFMC6400UC washer. In order to do that I have to seperate the user control knob from the control panel. I expected to be able to pry the knob out of its socket but have been unable to do that. Is there some trick to removing the user control knob?

I have tried pulling the knob off and using a screwdriver to help. Neither of these methods have worked. What else can I do?

The control knop is an integral part of the top panel that is visible to the operator. The solution is to remove the control panel using the clips on its sides and two detents that can be accessed through square holes in the control panel which are located near the end away from the control knob. Upon removing the control panel, the control knob slips out of its design position. while replaceing the control panel insure that the control knob is in the correct rotational position.

Neither of the solution offered will work.

Epending on the model that you have, you can put it into a self diagnostic test mode that will tell you the fault code (problem) with your machine.

Dear Sir/madam,

If you are not comfortable doing the job yourself, then get a technician to help. It is not too bad at all....and most can do it.
If you do want to attempt it....unplug the machine....first pull the knob off the front then remove the back of the console...there should be about 8 to 10 screws holding it on, removing the panel will expose the switch...it may be identified by the hose attached to it.
There will be 2 screws holding the switch in place, remove the screws and the small hose that attaches to it, once that is removed, replace it and transfer the wires and the small hose.
re install the knob, and the back of the console.

Plug the machine back in and test your repair...

thanks
good luck

In some instances there is either a set screw(generally a small allen head) or a small pin that has to be forced out. these keep the knob from spinning on the shaft and stripping it.

This is force fit knob, just pull that right up and it wil get loosed by itself, or you can use a negative screw driver to help a bit

cheers

Clothes come out wet

HI, this is a common issue that is easily fixed by, replacing the control unit. this control manages the motor functions during operations. if this unit is not spinning correctly, replace the Control unit. aka(motor control unit). In you washer, they call the motor control board a (Control Unit). replace this asap if possible. this will fix your washer. ADDITIONAL CHECKS--(Make sure that this unit is also draining water properly as well. this will cuase wet spin outs as well).

Control panel went to german

Maybe you could try unplugging from power source for a while. Perhaps it will revert back to original settings i.e. English. Also, sometimes there is a 'reset' button on the telephone. If you don't have a copy of your manual, look online at the company's website for it. Hope this helps but it is worth a shot anyway!

A faulty module or timer/control panel. Unless you are getting some form of error code in the way of flashing lights or otherwise. In which case refer to manual. Good luck.

Computer defunct

1. Try unplugging the washer power cord from the wall for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. See if this helps the problem. This will give the computer module an opportunity to reset itself. You may have to set the clock when you restart it.

2. This washer has a two year parts warranty. Find your original receipt and see if you are in warranty. If you are, find a Bosch warranty service provider here. I don't think Sears is Bosch authorized.

There are several models of the Premium washer. This is the control panel that fits mine. Yours should be similar in cost.
