Dryer is less than 2 years old. The Control Lock button started beeping constantly about a month ago. Unplugged the dryer for a few hours and re-tried. Worked fine until it started the same thing again. Tried to unplug again but now Control Lock is on and will not go off after holding button.
We've check all Breakers. When you switch off the Breaker and flip it back on, the Control Lock does go off and stays off for about 30 seconds, but the dryer will NOT turn on. Then the Control Lock light comes on.
PLEASE! Any suggestions? I absolutely refuse to pay Sears to fix this piece of junk after paying so much for the set not even 2 years ago. Not the first problem we've encountered...

My amana touch pad started going wacko...beeping constantly....then a F1 message....i unplugged it over night....then it worked for about 2 more days with no problems..then the next day it acted up again...Then i unplugged it again( touch pad only) over night . It has now been 1 month and no problems with it....so maybe before you dish out $$$$...maybe this will work for you also
I am having the same problem. I think there is a design problem. They have tried to fix mine 3 times (replacing the dryer with a new one on the first try!) My dryer is only years old. I'm so disappointed with Sears and Kenmore.
Mine is 4 years old and the pump went within 8 months! The dryer has had 6 new pumps in total! It was last fixed 6 months ago and now playing up again! I dont even constantly use my dryer! I am very disappointed with Siemens now, my last dryer lasted me 10 years and it was constantly on the go when my children were young! Here comes, tomorrow I have got to book another repair! No more Siemens for me.
I have the same problem..really disappointed in this product. I bought mine in 07 as well..I found that if i hold all the buttons down and then hit start it (Sometimes starts), but after it starts it turns off after 10 seconds.
THE KENMORE DRYER I HAVE... IF REN IN THE COTTON CYCLE IT WILL RUN FOR 50 MINUTES AND SHUT OFF. ITS BOLWING HOT AIR AND THE OTHER CYCLES SEEM TO WORK FINE WITH OUT SHUTING DOWN SO ID APPRECIATE A TIP ON WHAT THIS PROBLEM COULD BE
aye, see if you can enter the diagnosis mode. What we are looking for is the F-02 code. This will flash when there is a stuck button or user interface problem and only displayed in the test mode. With the unit plugged in and all indicator lights off, select any button except stop. Press for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press for 3 seconds, release for 3 secnds and press for 3 seconds. If you did it right 88 should appear. Press the same button again and if there is a error, it should show up. If no error code shows, open the consol and check the p-5 connector. This will be the interface ribbon to the board. Reseat it and see if the problem stops. Catriver
