My pny 2gb flash drive can't be reformatted anymore! i can't even delete or add files. i never experienced something like this before. that flash drive used to be working normally until when i tried to reformat it in a laptop it failed. When i tried to unplug it the inside came off the container or cover of the usb. then i tried to reformat the drive in other computers and it realy failed. i tried to simply overwrite the files but it just can't be done. windows cannot do it and there's no other OS around here.

My PNY 32 GB Flash drive says 24 GB are being used, but all the files only add up to about 6 GB. How can I find those 18 GB worth of files, so I can use all the space on my drive?

Make sure nobody put hidden files on the Flash,
Copy the files off, then reformat the flash in NTFS unless you have an old computer.

FAT32 will work, the limit is 4GB for a single file and 2TB for the whole drive. If it was an SD or variation I would have kept with this for compatibility with cameras ect. NTFS for a USB has a couple features that make it slightly more reliable and faster for a situation where you have many small files.

Below is a link to a simple flash formatting tool.

I accidently deleted my wedding pictures from my pny memory card/Nikon 5100 camera, can I restore them

I've used Recuva (free download). Do a thorough deep scan and save to another drive. Very simple to use as long as you have not reused same physical space on card.

I accidentally remove my "LaunchU3"

Are you sure you can't access it anymore?

LaunchU3 is only a quick launch program that comes with Cruzer flash drives. Even if the program is deleted, you should still be able to access your other files. Just go to Start -> Computer and your flash drive should be listed next to your hard drive.

If that doesn't work, then perhaps you deleted other files along with LaunchU3. In that case, you will have to use data recovery software to un-delete the files.

Can't add or delete files from PNY 8GB Flash Drive

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Try formatting the drive using the option available in Microsoft Windows (before that try back up the important data on that drive), if the problem still persists, try using Forced USB formatter Utility, do tell us with the results. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Concerned.

All accidentally deleted.

I would suggest you "NOT" to copy anymore files on your SD Card to prevent data loss or data corruption. Stop using it immediately.
Download an undelete program such as Undelete Plus. I think its a free download. and run the
program to recover your pictures. If you attempt to continue to use your SD Card you are at
higher risk of loosing your data.
