Re: Sequential shooting

Yes, in the Sequence mode. The built-in SD-RAM with a large capacity of 32MB makes sequential shooting in high shutter speeds (about 3.3 fps) possible in all modes, except the TIFF mode.

Burst??

The camera does not have a burst mode unless what you are referring to is a sequential shooting mode which it does have. Page 72 of your advanced camera manual explains how to set that mode up and use it.

How do you set up sequential shooting on an Olympus E500

Single-frame shooting o Shoots 1 frame at a time when the shutter button is
pressed. (normal shooting mode)
Sequential shooting j Shoots 4 frames or more at 2.5 frames/sec. (in SHQ,
HQ or SQ) for as long as the shutter button pressed.
Focus and exposure are locked at the first frame.
1 Press the </Y/j (Remote control/
Self-timer/Drive) button.
2 Use the control dial to set.
o Single-frame shooting
j Sequential shooting
3 Press the shutter button all the way to
take the picture.
Press the shutter button fully and keep it
pressed. The camera will take pictures in
sequence until you release the button.
Notes
Sequential shooting is not possible when [NOISE REDUCTION] (g P. 95) is set
to [ON].
During sequential shooting, if the battery check blinks due to low battery, the
camera stops shooting and starts saving the pictures you have taken on the card.
The camera may not save all of the pictures depending on how much battery power
remains.

The above comes from page 62 of your user manual.

Where is the BKT (auto bracket)

My wife uses the camera on Auto only. You can NOT access the BKT mode in Auto. Turn the dial to P or A/S/M. In these modes you can make individual adjustments. Press the Quick View button to display the viewer. Wait a few seconds for the AF info display and such to turn off (if you press OK too quickly you will activate MF). Then press the OK button to bring up the menu. Once you have the menu, press the top up arrow button to get into Drive. Then you will see a list of burst modes and the BKT at the bottom. Press the down button to get to BKT and press the right arrow button to make your selection. Once you make your selection, press OK and you're all set.

Sequential shooting modes

There are four sequential modes: Sequential shooting, High-speed Sequential shooting, AF Sequential shooting and Auto Bracketing. Sequential shooting modes can be selected from the CAMERA menu: Sequential shooting: A maximum of 11 frames can be shot sequentially at approximately 1.7 fps in HQ mode. Focus, Brightness (exposure) and White Balance are locked at the first frame. High-speed Sequential shooting: A maximum of 4 frames can be shot sequentially at approximately 3.3 fps. Focus, Brightness (exposure) and White Balance are locked at the first frame. AF Sequential shooting: Focus is individually locked for each frame. The AF Sequential shooting speed is slower than for normal sequential shooting. Auto Bracketing: When Auto bracketing is set, exposure is changed automatically for each frame when you start shooting. The exposure differential can be selected in the menus. Focus and white balance are locked at the first frame.

Extend the life of my batteries

Using the flash and LCD monitor affects the rate at which the batteries will drain. The rate at which pictures are taken will also affect battery life. When taking pictures sequentially the battery does not have as much time to recover between each shot. To help to extend the life of your battery, the flash, LCD monitor, and sequential shooting should only be used only as necessary.
