No. The R927 is limited to SD cards 2GB and smaller.

SOURCE: Will an SDHC card work in the HP photosmart R927?

No, it won't work unless HP provides a firmware update. Hp has two websites that mention what type of sd cards are compatible with your camera. One says it is and the other says it isn't. I have a HP R967, which is similar to yours. I bought an HP sdhc card from a HP website that said both our cameras could use it. I own several of this model camera, (I bought 3 to give as gifts) and the sdhc causes the cameras to display 'wrong format.' I suggest calling HP's headquarters and asking them to provide a firmware update similar to the one that HP offered for the HP M537 camera and that Casio offered for their older cameras to let them use this type card, which is what I've been doing.

SOURCE: locked memory card

There is a tiny switch located on the side of the memory card, might even say lock on it or beside it. Just flick the switch opposite of the way it is now and it should work fine after that. There might even be a small arrow showing which way to switch it. The reason for the lock button is "just" for this, so you don't accidentally erase some wanted pictures or someone else.

Card format may be incompatible with reader or card may be too large for reader to manage. Try another card in the reader to see if it will read that one. If so you know the card is the problem not the reader.

SOURCE: hp photosmart 2610 won't read my sandisk ultra memory card

Previous solution is the FAIL. Original poster says it works fine in _camera_, but not in _printer_. _Printer_ is the compatibility issue, not camera.

Card locked

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I can't store photos on my card; it says card locked with a lack symbol on the capture mode

If it uses an SD memory card, look on the side of the card for a switch. It may be in the "Protect" position. Move it to the opposite position.

If this doesn't help, the memory card probably needs to be replaced.

Good luck!

My hp photosmart r927 is very slow when processing a picture. what could cause this?

Several things can cause this. 1. Low battery 2. Memory card almost full 3. "cheap" memory card...too slow at writing data 4. Card hasn't been formatted in the camera for a long time. This will erase it so download any pics to your computer first.

Please recommend a memory card so I get the right one!

You can use any major brand of SD cards. The speed isn't going to affect your photography, though faster cards may download faster if you use a card reader instead of the camera.

Make sure you get SD cards, not SDHC cards. If a card is larger than 2GB then it's an SDHC card and won't work in the R927.

HP R927 says that the 4GB card i recently bought wrong format

ok ...see that into the side of the card( if its a SD) has a slide like button with 2 positions ...one of them is the unlocked one ...after that either format it into the camera if it has that feature...or just connect it to the computer and it will be found somewhere into the My computer as a removable drive ....just right click and format in Fat 32...this is the actual storage format fit for this cards..

I have an HP R927 and just had the same problem. Take out your memory card. Look on the side of the card and you will see and white "knobby thing" ... make sure it is pushed up ... that should fix it.
