Hello,
The problem you are having is an indication of a failing power supply. There are parts called capacitors that fail and cause the power supply to not start up correctly. When you keep pressing the start button the voltages coming out of the power supply will finally stabilize and the monitor will display a picture until you turn it off then you have to start all over again. The power board can be easily repaired by replacing the ad capacitors. You can get information about the parts needed here: http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=138 The repair will require you doing a little soldering but its very easy.
I hope this helps, if so please please rate our solution.
