Machine turns on however, start button (thought lit) will not begin load...

Sounds as if somehow machine got placed in continuous wash mode you have an F5E4 code tells me you know how to enter diagnostics go to diagnostic turn the knob till wash, rinse, and done are lit press the start button washer should not start and lights should go out unplug washer and wait 10 seconds plug back up should not start if not then you are done if so repeat process

As you describe without seeing the washer it seems main control board or door lock problem

Here's something to try, it's actually the drum reset and if it's the drum that needs replacing then this will get you going again. Just remember that if you reset this that eventually the drum will start having quality issues because you will be using it past its end of life cycle getting more use out of it then normal and it won't hurt the machine either... hope this helps and if so, please mark Fixya

1) Turn off the power using the switch on the back of the printer. Open the front door of the printer.

2) Hold Continue button down, power on the printer, and continue to holding Continue down until the LEDs begin to flash. When the LEDs start to flash, release Continue button. The LEDs will continue flashing until only Error LED will be lit.

3) Close the front door. Continue, Ready/Data, Toner Low and Load Paper LEDs should be lit.

4) Wait till the printer completes the POST process. POST is complete when fan noise and rollers stop. After POST wait for 5 seconds

5) Press Cancel button 4 times slowly until the Toner Low LED is lit. This is the procedure resetting the counter.

6) Press and hold Continue until all LEDs begin to cycle in sequence, then release Continue. Now only the Toner Low LED will be lit.

7) Cycle the power of the printer (turn it off and then back on).

This is symbol shows that the child lock has been activated. This can only be turned on/off at the beginning or end of washing programme. To activate/de-activate this, just press and hold the Start/Pause button in for 5 seconds. The time settings will then re-appear and then you can proceed as normal

This should fix the drum light being on that 1720

Solution. Unplug the machine. Hold the power button for 10 seconds. Plug back in. Push the power button and the washer should turn on. Walk away leaving the machine on. When I did this, I came back to find the drum light off and machine would start on command now. Good luck.

door lock switch could be your problem..

52. (00110100) Eco - Diverter Top-up Fault diverter valve made be stuck in half open position ,may be a mechanical obstuction or the wax filled solenoid that actuates it may be faulty .located under machine beside pump .

...most likely the balance sensor, a small contact switch behind the main control panel that is telling the machine it is out of balance, more likely the switch and/or contacts have corroded...
