6A00 is a sheet feed unit problem.After trying the suggested fixes (moving carriage back and forth manually, checking and cleaning paper feed, making sure all rollers were free, etc., with no effect, I turned the whole thing upside down and shook it. Problem solved. Go figure it out then...

Hope this may help;

Hi-

Try turning it off and unplugging it from power supply, then reconnect after a couple of minutes, if same error persist call manufacturer for a replacement if its within warranty. thats a mechanical jam problem or a printhead problem

Hope this helps

My Canon MP530 is giving 6A00 error message and alarm light is flashing along with copy button. i have replaced empty ink cartridges with new ones. Can anyone help, please?

Error code 6A00 indicates an error occurred in the AP motor during purging operation. You need to replace sheet feed unit, logic board assy and purge unit to fix it. Before replacement of the logic board assy, check the waste ink amount (by service test print or EEPROM information print). If the waste ink amount is 7% or more, also replace the ink absorber kit when replacing the logic board assy.

Error 6A00 on/off and alarm are flashing

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Canon iP6700D error 6A00

6A00 is a purge assembly error, thats the cleaning unit on the right where the printhead parks. Look on the right with a flashlight and see if there's paper, or anything that doesn't belong. If the wipers are jammed into the pad assembly, you will need a new purge unit, best changed by a shop.
