We have nothing after we press the on button?

Your request is a bit vague. Making some assumptions. HP printers require you to install the drivers/software from the CD first. Installation process will tell you when to connect printer. Printer will go through an initial setup process to align and clean the print head.

If all of this has already been done, you may want to go into your printer options (control panel, printers, right click on HP 2210 and choose properties). Find the test button and send a test. This alone will tell you if your printer is working with your setup.

If you need the drivers/software for you printer, you can get them free from HP at the following link:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=HP+PSC+2210

Be sure to select the correct printer. The part number (p/n) on the label found on back or bottom of printer will tell you which one you have. After selecting the printer, select the operating system you have on your computer. You will be presented with a table showing all the drivers and software (firmware) available for you model and operating system. Since this model has a scanner, I recommend downloading the HP Director software as it makes it easier to program the scanner controls.

Sounds like theres something stuck inside the printer

actually the part that says scanner failiure means that the scanner bulb on the printer has gone bad and we need to replace the printer as its a part that if repaired will come back

Scanner failure during the initalization/starts up.

Sound as if your scanner is broken..
Could be something in there stopping it from moving, the motor could be bad.
It might have Home Positioning errors, causing this error.
To get it Fixed? The machine is about 140 dollars on Amazon?
The company I work for, the first hour is 125 (I do not know how much it cost to repair these)
Unfortunately these little ink jet printers are not designed to be repaired. They are considered throw away.
Sorry
