Problem with "model selection connection" message on touch screen

My touch screen reads: "A problem has been detected with the model selection connection" and I cannot get any response from any of the buttons to access the troubleshooter menu.

Is there any help for me?

GE Dryer - Profile Harmony
DPTGT750GC1WW and perhaps others.

If a screen comes up with "model selection connection". It could be the motherboard that has problems. Most likely not the touch screen.

Possible solution - Before calling for repair.

- First unplug the dryer for two minutes.
- Hand spin the dryer drum one or two turns while unplugged. ( in case motor was over heated)
- Make sure the dryer door is fully closed.
- Plug in (after the two minutes).
- Cross fingers
- Start.

- Let dryer cool between loads when possible.
If this fails you may need to call for repairs. I think GE has one year repair plan unless you bought extended plan. If you paid with credit card, see if it was a paid with a credit card that extends warranty another year. Perhaps look into this "card choice" for your next high end purchase.
Only if this helped...Donations_M.D.,box774,Fairfax,CA - Another try if this fails - If you dare - Unplug, you can remove about three screws holding top panel on (on rear) and tilt top forward. Check to see that all connectors are seating well on motherboard. (White box in center). Hope see works for you!

No heat from kitchen aid gas dryer model

The easiest way to check the ignitor is to observe it. Remove the small access panel in front, or the rear(on some models), select a high temperature setting and start the dryer. Watch the burner assembly, shortly after starting the unit the ignitor should begin to glow or spark. If you see it glow or spark, then the ignitor is working. If the ignitor did not appear to function and it is the spark type, it may be out of adjustment which generally requires professional service or it may require replacement. If the ignitor is the glow type, you can test it for resistance with a multimeter.

The ignitor has two wires connected to it.Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. You should get a reading anywhere between 50 and 600 ohms. If you get a reading of zero or infinity, the ignitor is definitely bad and will need to be replaced.

How do you change the ignitor on a kenmore dryer model #417.90042990?

Drop the front bottom panel and you can then access the ignitor.
092f93a.jpgas you can see it has a quick connection. Do not touch the corborundum or the new part will fail imediately.

My Kenmore dryer (model # 11077732795) would not shut off or heat up. I replaced the timer and thermal fuse. The dryer now heats up and the timer moves but never shuts off. Any suggestions.

Just inside the drum on the front panel is a metal sensor strip that detects a change in capacitance as the clothes get dryer. When no more dampness is read the motor is energised by the moisture sensing board. Get the goop off the sensor strips so they can send a dry message.

Not heating also exhaust fan on dryer is not woeking screen show a problem has been detected with the model selection connection

Hello chuhunghuang
Welcome

You said, your not heating also exhaust fan on dryer is not working screen show a problem has been detected with the model selection connection

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.

1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first.
2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent if this is even half blocked
with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed.
Try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door,
and or remove the screen permanently!
NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE! They sense this and stay clear.
It is 2 years that mine is off and all is fine.
Let me know how it goes!
Bless You huuum
