How di I reset theApple Mac Air to factory settings

Do you have the original Mac OS X Install DVD? Just pop that in, restart the MacBook Air, just after you hear the "dong" sound on startup with the white screen, immediately press an hold down your Control key (I think it is) an you will get a select menu of what you want to boot into like on Windows, select your Mac OS X DVD an everything else is pretty much self explainatory from there to have everything back to factory default as if you just bought the MacBook.

(: hope this helps mate.

Is the beep a moderately high tone that lasts for about two seconds? If so, this is the firmware loading signal, which sounds only when the power button is held in on powerup. This would indicate that your power switch has a mechanical or electrical problem and is not releasing.
If this is not what you are hearing, please provide more detail.

Try the following: 1. Reset the powermanager by pulling the battery and holding down the power switch for 5 seconds than wait a few more seconds reinstall the battery and plug in your power supply. Push the start button. You can watch the light on the magsafe adapter to confirm that the power manager resets. 2.If you still do not boot to the CD try booting while holding down the C or the option key. 3.If you still do not boot up and have a second mac: try booting into target disc mode connect to the other mac with a firewire cable and install your software on the hard drive remotely. Good luck

Boot macbook problem

Parallels won't have caused this, Bootxchanger might have but it's not likely. More likely is that you HD is faulty.
A largish number of white Macbooks shipped with faulty Seagate HD which, although fine to start with, started failing after about 1 year of use.
I've seen 3 in the last six months.
Thankfully the HDs in these MacBooks can be changed in just a couple of minutes, the bad news is that the data on the drive is generallycompletely destroyed.
Try starting up from your install DVD, but not do the install. After you get asked about language, at the next screen, go up to the menu bar and locate disk first aid. Run that - you may be lucky and it fixes it or you may not.

Apple Remote Not Working

Have you installed anything in between time? (i.e.,Software updates, 3rd party drivers.) Have you cleaned or organized your hd and "got rid of things you don't use/need ?" Has the laptop been serviced or opened?

Try resetting the MacBook's PMU (power management, hold down power button while the battery is out and the cord is unplugged) and possibly resetting the PRAM (hold down command + option + p + r before you hear the startup chime, it should start again, let it boot from there).
