My HP 3970 scanner has been working for years. No

Sounds simple enough. You will have to do a couple of things in order here. Unplug the cable from the back of the computer, and the scanner itself. Then unplug the power cord from the wall for the scanner. Wait about 20-30 seconds, then plug the scanner back into the wall. Now plug the cable in to the scanner, then the computer. Turn on the scanner and it should work. If by chance this does not work, then you may have to reinstall the drivers. If you don't have the disc, check out the manufacturer websight support section. Good luck

Scanner won't turn on

Hi,
Try to test the power cord of the scanner (cable from scanner to outlet) using multitester if there is an electricity or if you have extra power cord test it. Maybe that's the defect. If that's not the problem it is now the scanner itself, have it for the repair man or technician.
Thanks

Color problem and inacurate scaning

I solved my problem by simple re-boot. Unplug scanner power and USB for several seconds then replug. This solves a large percent of such problems. I wasted a lot of time before I did this. mike123456

I bought a power supply from ebay paid $22 with shipping thought it was better than getting a new scanner.
Screen is all Green and resolution is 72 no matter what the settings.
I guess it is time for a new scanner.

I can't seem to find a error code 5. What software are you using to scan? Did the error start right after your first? Had the scanner been working?
