My dead 42" plasma - power problem

Following some suggestions from you guys, I got brave and pulled the screws off of the back of the TV. I followed the AC wire to the input on the board. Right next to it was a fuse. I borrowed my friends Fluke multimeter and checked. I got no response. I checked another fuse to make sure and I got a beep, so I know the fuse is blown. It is a T8AH250V P - does anyone know where to find one?

By the way - YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

    Amazon.com has them. Pretty cheap too. As long as it's not rushed delivery.

I have same issue with Samsung HP-S4253 Plasma. The fuse is a Littlefuse (manufacturer they do not sell), I have search and called over 20 places and the latest is Fuses Unlimited but it is discontinued and they do not stock but they can order. I will not be able to contact them until the holidays are over. There most likley is a minimum order. If there are other fuses you need write down part #'s so you can fill the minimum if required.

If there is anyone out there that can help with finding these hard to find fuses it would be appreciated.
There are most likey other Plasmas or TVs that use the same fuse just have to figure out witch ones they are.

Fuses on Power Supply Board: The 8 amp is the one I require.
T8AH250V P
T10AH250V

Break Down of Fuse Description:
T = Time Lag
8A = 8 Amp
H = High Breaking Capacity (Ceramic) 1500A @ 250V AC
250V = 250 Volts
P = RoSH Compliant

You can check radio shack, make sure you get one with the same voltage/current ratings.
Good Luck.

    The fuse is available from several online distributors: Digikey (as noted), Newark, Mouser, Allied Electric.

    The fuse is a Littlefuse series 215. Base part number is 0215008. Suffix denotes options.

    Link to the fuse data (including an explanation of the part number) is: http://www.littelfuse.com/data/en/Data_S...

If there is no LED burning to indicate there is power than the power supply is faulty.Repair is not verry easy to do with these complicated power supply's.

Dead, no power

It sounds like ze power supply blew when it was being turned off. This seems to be typical of plasmas. Bad power supplys wont let the tv come on and will result in no lights coming on. Since there R no lights coming on, I would suspect the power supply first, followed by the power control board,. and circuit board. It may cost anywhere from $250 to $500 to fix.

My dead 42" plasma - power problem

I went to Radio Shack and bought a 4 pack of 6.3amp 250v glass fuses (5x20)...stuck one in and it works like a charm.

Anyone know of any problem using a 6.3amp fuse instead of an 8amp one? I am thinking it just would blow out sooner...and I have 3 more I can go through until I find an 8amp fuse...am I crazy?

Hi guys.  This is totally fixable and pretty easy if you have tech skills at all.  I performed this fix even before I found the following thread that will explain it, and it worked flawlessly!  Read it entirely and follow carefully.  this works on many different models of plasma's.

Got a 42 sampo plasma tc, no picture

Howzit Brother.

I had the same problem, but managed to repair it myself! There is no need to purchase a new
Power Supply! You can service the faulty PCB yourself, or give it to a Tehnician to service for you.
If you want to try service to yourself, here is how,

On the PCB marked QPWB11326-1B-4 you will need to do the following<

Replace the following Capacitor's, CS704(Most important one), CS705, CS706, CS707, CS708, CS713, CS715.
Replace the TOP210PFI IC marked ICS02
Replace the PC123 OPTO marked ICS03
Replace the TL431 Shunt Regulator marked ICS04

This solution should work! email me on engineering@elektroniktechnisch.co.za if you have any other requests!
