Kenmore Electric Dryer 592-89057 makes a horrible squealing for first 2 minutes of dry cycle. Noise goes away after this point. Is there a repair kit for belt/bearings/bushings? I'm assuming this is the...

I am quite suspicious that the problem is a worn out, or dried and hardened, drive belt.
New belt are available in many places, and on-line if you wish to buy there, I buy both locally and on-line.
As far a s changing it, although it is easy, you still must take the machine apart partly to do so.
I recall you should be able to look at an old instruction and transfer that information to a newer one.
They have not really changed much.
God bless your efforts.

My Frigidaire Affinity AEQ7000EGO dryer is making a loud screeching noise. What can I do to make it stop?

Could be one of 4 problems:
  1. Worn or loose drum drive belt (Looks like a large fan belt) (New belt cost $12)
  2. The rear bearing(s) is bad and needs replacing (part cost $18)
  3. The front bearing guide(Sleeve) is worn (Part cost 2@$18.00
  4. Possible that the fan is loose from the motor and hitting housing.
All of the above are easy do at home repairs if you re handy. You should be able to get a good idea of what is wrong just by turning the dryer drum by hand. If the problem is the front bearing or guides, you will hear a grinding noise in the front at the top of the door.

Where can I find a service manual to install a new motor kit for my G.E. Dryer DPSR405EAOWW?

Hey 43bucko, really, the best thing to do and the easiest is, when you get your dryer taken apart, draw or write down where the wires go on the motor connections, like terminal one - blue, terminal two - red (just an example). Thats what I did and worked out just fine. If you need to know how to take the dryer apart, just let me know, and ill be glad to guide you along.

How do I connect the dryer to the pedastool?

Hello- The Pedestal (depending on the make and model) usually connects to the dryer by unscrewing the dryer legs and using the bolts that came with the pedestal to screw through the pedistal into where the dryer legs, feet, were. This should be done with the dryer laying on its side. If you didn't get instructions with the pedestal then I would contact the manufacturer and they can email them to you (different brands have different systems). Good luck and best regards.

Older Kenmore upright freezer

ajrtz I will give you the same advice I gave my parents when their freezer did this. Just buy a new one. The new freezer will have a full warranty, be more engery efficent(may even qualify for rebate from power company), and you won't be worring when it is going to go down again. To resolve a seal system problem is usually around 500 dollars and that is the price of a new unit. Sorry but that is the best advice I can give you on this. just being honest. Note: If you buy get the best warranty on the sealed system you can. This is the cooling system.
