Question about Technics Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have 2 Technics Sl-1210 MkII's and one of them spins too fast sometimes when I hit the start/stop button. It doesn't do it all the time but it's getting more frequent. Pressing the 33/45 buttons or moving the pitch control doesn't do anything. It's spinning at what I guess is the max speed for the motor. Please help! Thanks

buy some turner cleaner or electrical contact cleaner(radio shack) with the power off take the volume knob off spray into the area where the knob goes(the little metal post) turn the post back and forth with your fingers or needel nose plyers several times (over time dust and dirt build up makes a bad connection) you may have to do this a couple of times dont worry this stuff drys realy fast this should do the trick

I own a technics CD changer Model SL-PD 787. The system powers up showing the disc & track no. but the timer does not count down . and therefore does not play. How can I fix the problem.

Actually it's the other way around. Playback makes the counter move. Did you hit PLAY or try to seek to a track or anything to verify it 'likes' the disc?

Need a needle for a TECHNIC SL-3350

It's 'TechnicS' and 'stylus'. Wouldn't a web search have been faster?

"TECHNIC SL-3350 stylus"

But even 'technic" and 'needle' would have worked.

When a disc is loaded the disc spins but the player ( technics sl-pg590) displays no disc loaded.

The lenses are dirty. Cleaning the top of the focus lens may resolve the problems, unfortunately, the other lens may not be accessible.

I have a Technics SL-MC7 multiple CD changer that my dad unknowingly moved with CDs in it. I can't get the door open now - how can I fix it?

the quickest way to do this if your comfortable with opening electyron componants is to take the top of the unit off. there will be a cover over the disk carousel that has to be removed as well you will be able to remove the disks from there and then replace everything back in the same order. becareful not to wear clothing that will hold a static charge, a discharge on the circuit boards will fry them. also do not touch the optic glass of the laser this will damage it. please rate the solution...thanks
