Trying to set up the fax on HP officejet 3600 on my laptop

Press <Setup>, <3> then <2>
Enter or change info
Press <OK>

You might need to step thru the fax settings and turn off the error correction mode, or ECM. It tends to cause this kind of error

There are 4 different models listed under 3600 series user manuals. Hope this helps.

your answering machine or your dsl will mess things up.
