I believe that my air conditioners temperature setting does not work anymore. Previously, it would stop blowing cold air depending on the temperature setting. Now, even when placed at the lowest temperature, the ac continues unless i manually turn it off myself. Please let me know how to solve this.

SOURCE: Carrier Air Conditioner- not reaching set temperature

if it is set to 76 degrees and its 78 in the house its working fine it is suppose to shut off once it reaches 76 but sometimes there is a 1 or 2 degree differential built ini would keep you filter clean and as long as it blows out cold air i wouldnt be to concerned most airconditioners need yearly cleanings though

Possibly the unit is frozen and low on freon. Turn the unit off and put the fan off of auto to on. It should defrost! After doing this, you will need to call a professional to check to unit and recharge it with freon. If it continues to happen, there may be a leak somewhere! Good luck!

SOURCE: My Carrier Home AC unit stopped blowing cold air

This could be complicated to resolve over the internet but I'll give it a try. When you stated that it stoped blowing cold air, did it stop blowing air all together? Also is the outside unit rtunning?

Depending on what type of Thermostat you have, it is usually as simple as setting a jumper for Electric heat instead of gas.
If you have a digital Thermostat then turn off the power to the Air handler and remove the thermostat. Look closely at the small jumpers and make sure your jumpers are set to elect. and not gas so the fan can run in heat mode.
If you have a standard heat cool mercury switch then same as before with the power and unscrew the thermostat, and where the yellow wire is connected if there is a factory with on the yellow, then move the factory wire to the (A) and put the yellow wire back on the (Y).

Good Luck!

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

Why is my airco not cooling?

I believe that error code refers to a defective Indoor Coil Temperature Sensor (Thermistor); probably an "open" or "shorted" condition.

Hello my air conditioner is not blowing cold air. It seems like only the fan is working. I set the temp to between 16-18 celcius and the temp that is showing is 28 celcius. Also is showing E5 on the ac...

What did they do when it was serviced? It sounds like there may be a leak if it does not get cold at all anymore.Although, lasting 3 weeks, depending on how much you used it,it would be a very tiny hole leaking. The other most likely suspect would be the thermocouple went bad.It senses what the temperature is,compares it to what you would like to be,and enables/disables the air conditioner accordingly. The E5 code I cannot look up right now because you did not list the make and model. If you post that,I will get an autolink to your answer and check it out.Greg

I am not sure, i have a similiar unit that is brand new, seems like a faulty mechanism from the maker, it starts cold for about 2-3 minutes and then shuts down condenser and blows hot air repeating this cycle. I don't believe it ias a recharge, just a faulty machine

Not blowing cold air anymore

Possibly dirty evaporator coil or condenser coil. Maybe dirty filters. Also could be low on refrigerant charge.
