Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

1 Answer

Sound No sound from speakers. Tried everything under HELP & SUPPORT. Still no sound. Indications are the sound card is OK - I had back of CPU off to clean inside unit. Worked fine until then. Cannot find any driver downloads that will work. I am now lost. Acelapage

Maybe this is a foolish question, but are you positive the speakers work? Can you test them on another machine?

It's possible that there's damage to the speakers you're using, so if you can try them out on another computer, or get a different set to try on yours, that'll clear that one way or another.

Also, did you use the standard volume control on the lower right of the screen, near the clock? It's possible that the sound has been muted via checkmark on the subscreen for volume and tone control. Make sure that's not turned off.

No sound from ASUS P5VDC-MX

If everything is OK in Device Manager, check Audio in Sound and Audio Devices under Control Panel. The Sound playback should default to Device Manager device.

Plus, make Volume Controls are not muted.

Last, simply check with headphones.

Sound doesnt come out from guitar link UCG102

what you need to do is install the asio4all driver then select file, adio midi settings and where it says behringer audio codec click the arrow and select asio4all then click the configure button and in the wdm list you must activate all the items under audio codec and the audio speaker under High Definition audio device this will allow it to work through the speakers, or just leave it how it is and plug in a set of headphones. make note though that your speakers will play nothing else but the guitar sound. all other music internet sounds, the lot will no longer work as your ucg102 is high jacking your sound card to produce the sound from your guitar. hope this helps.

I have a creative audigy Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Sound Card and Creative 7.1 surround sound speakers. When I was using XP all 7 speakers worked perfectly. Now with my newer Vista machine,...

Uninstall all sound drivers for the card. Delete all folder and use search to locate everything related to the sound card. Remove card , turn comp on w/o card. Turn off reinsert card.
Should fix it.
Vista has many, many issues like this.
If you have more types of sound listed in "SOUNDS" delete all but Audigy.
Re-install drivers AFTER you get ALL NEW VISTA UPDATES>

Sound Starts on Then Goes Off Randomly

I actually fixed the problem. It was a driver issue. Try this with your sound card program. I opened up the program in charge for sound. In my case it was soundmax. And pressed the load defaults button and clicked apply and everything started working again. The same thing happened again after a while so I pressed defaults again and it worked. But It happened again so I uninstalled the drivers and updated them. Everything was fine after that. Now I have a problem with my registry.lol

Hope it helps.

Speakers not working proprerly

This may be in the sound card settings itself. Even though you may have adjusted the Windows settings {if thats what your using} the sound card needs to also be set up for surround. Some sound cards do not support 4 speakers or surround sound systems. Go to Device Manager and find your sound card and manufacture then check there technical support page for info.

My hp speakers wont work

Sample testing is usually a firmware built into the monitor amplifier ie the monitor is testing itself. you problem possibly lies with the computer sound system. Tell me more about this. Is it an 'On-board' sound card or separate PCI card. You can determine this by looking at the back of the computer- if all the connectors - sound- PS2 and USB are in the same panel - then it is an on-board system. If the sound is separate in one of the card position then it is a PCI card. The possibility is the sound system needs setting up- check your computer paperwork/manual and utilities disk for Audio drivers. Come back with some answers
