The camera has been fine until today(9/3/08). Took about 20 shots and about half are pink on the lighter subjects, flash and no flash. Everything white or beige shows as pink. I tried 2 different compact flash cards to be sure that the cards weren't the problem. I checked out the internet and found this site. I'll be contacting Canon next.

Looking forward to learning what the problem is and is it fixable.

Had this camera a while, suddenly one afternoon last week all pictures are mostly pink horizontal lines. The 'Movie' mode still works great (take and playback), and the 'Display' mode shows all the old, good pictures just fine, and all the 'pink line' pictures, well, pink.

So it ain't the sensor, and it ain't the display. It was sudden, not related to any damaging incident, and I HAD to have a camera immediately, so I paid FULL-PRICE at Wolf Camera in Denver for a Powershot A650 IS.

Took the 4 AAs out, left it sit a while, and now, while the display works great showing existing pics, when I try to take pictures the display is black, although all icons (mode, speed, f-stop) display correctly.

Is there another battery in here somewhere?

Obviously it's a mass Canon A95 issue, it's the same as "pink blur LCD" question which has around 10 people with the same problem, and there's also "purple LCD line" question which refers to the same. Just this website has around 20 of us who posted in August. Unfortunately not a single reply.

This is a symptom of a faulty CCD. This is a known issue and if the camera is taken direct to a Canon service centre they should be able to have it repaired at no charge. Camera shops can also send them in for you but will most likely charge you a handling fee.
