I bought a display model for the dx32inflatscreen, and I need an operational manual to become familiar with the tv. I'm having difficulty trying to download the manual, as instructed by the store rep at Best Buys. Can you help ?

Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper. (You have not mentioned the type of connection that you're using to connect the Recorder to the TV. You may use Component, S-Video or Composite Video connection to setup the Recorder with the TV).

Please make sure that you have selected proper input on the TV to view the setup screen of the Recorder on the TV screen. (Most of the TVs have an INPUT button or TV/VIDEO button to change the input. If you're not sure with the input selection method, you may refer the manual of the TV or get back to me with the exact model # of the TV so that I can help you with INPUT SELECTION)

Turn off both TV and Recorder and check the operation.

Unplug the Recorder from wall outlet for more than two minutes to perform a Power resetting and check the operation.

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in viewing the Desktop correctly when connecting a computer to the TV. Unfortunately, there are no such drivers available for TV to make it compatible with a computer.

Please understand that the image from a connected computer will not display in full screen because of the difference between the display resolution of the television and the available resolutions on the computer. Setting the WIDE MODE (Zoom) option on the television to Full 1 or Full 2 will stretch the image to fill more of the television screen but will not fill the entire screen. This is normal operation.

I have searched online and found that 1024 X 768 will provide better experiencing than other resolution. It is required to set the resolution in the computer before connecting it to the TV. Please install if graphic card updates available from the computer manufacturer so that it will give option to select resolution in some cases.

Try the following procedure:

Turn off your TV and your laptop.
Connect the VGA cable from the VGA output of the laptop to the VGA input of the TV.
Now turn on your TV.
Then select VGA on your TV's onscreen INPUT MODE SELECTOR.
Now turn on your laptop.

The laptop should now automatically detect the TV and display the video signal onto that screen.

If the laptop display is still appearing on the laptop's built in screen, then just wait for the machine to finish booting up completely and then you can try using the FUNCTION keys on the laptop keyboard to switch the display to the external monitor (TV).

Now try holding down the FUNCTION (Fn) key on the laptop keyboard and then push the F5 key at the same time.
If this combination does not work, look at the numbered F keys at the top of the keyboard for one that has a figure of a monitor on it. Then hold down the FUNCTION key and press that F# key.

The exact key combination for switching between the external and built in monitors is different for each model of laptop, so if you still have trouble, try looking in your laptop's owner's manual for the precise instructions for that model. Otherwise just comment back here with your laptop's brand and model number and I will look up the procedure for you.

"I am also having difficulties in try to display the yamaha set up menu on the tv."
According to the manual the display menu for TV will not work with HDMI hook up.
I also have a Panasonic HD TV and can't get TV sound through my Yamaha AVR on "TV Sound" mode.  Trying to use HDMI cable for this also.  Do I need a digital optical cable or do I not have something set right?

I would start by trying other codes on the universal remote. Sometimes codes will only work part of the remote such as the numbers or channels but not volume. Your motorola cable remote sounds like it may only need a good cleaning. sometimes when you take remotes apart it will look like somthing got spilt in it. I would start there first.
