I purchased Shredder Model BD-S600 on 5/6/11. This was to replace another Black & Decker Shredder that I had for only a few months also. Today, when i attempted to turn shredder on to shred some documents - it would not turn on. I've checked the outlet it was plugged in to & I made sure that the main outlet didn't need to be re-set. Nothing happens.

If less than about 12 months could be the charger, if older than 18 months or so it could be a dud battery

There could be a few different problems with the vacuum, some more serious than others. The great thing is that the unit is still under warranty. My advice would be to contact your local B & D Service Center:

I'm not sure what bag your referring to. The only bag for this is the carrying bag. So I have to assume you mean one of the filters.
There are three filters for this vacuum.

• Primary Filter.
• Exhaust Filter.
• Secondary Filter Element.

I have included a link to a site that carries the replacement parts and a diagram of the vacuum.

On another note If it doesn't help I really don't feel to bad because I'm in Detroit Michigan. And I'd rather have a dozen useless vacuums hanging out in New Zealand any day. :)
