I plug my camera into the usp port and it wont let me select the pc connect option, it will just tell me to connect ac adaptor. So my pc cannot recognize the camera or something.... so i cannot have my movies i recorded on the pc. but if i go down to the pictbridge option it will connect to the pc just fine but i can only see the pictures on the pc. im just super frustrated because i just bought this camera and it wont connect to my stupid computer which is windows xp by the way. please help!!!

Clarification Request

I am having trouble sending pictures from the Lieca lux 3 to pc. I was told I do not need any software that it is in the camera itself. What is the easiest way to do this using the cables - I do not have a card reader.

-   I have the exact same problem. Installed the software that came with the panasonic SDR H60. Plugged in the aux power cable to the camera and the usb cord to the computer and camera. I am using Windows XP. The software takes for-ev-er to load and then shows my camcorder listed on the left hand side but WON'T let me select my camcorder to unload the files/movies. It just won't let me click on it at all. I tried using Windows movie maker and it won't work , either. So I downloaded a free movie maker software...and it says "device not found". I checked on "my computer" and it shows that the camcorder IS linked to the computer as F drive. I don't understand. I am getting ready to return the camera. I have a few cute vids of my kids on it, so I hate to do that ! -   jmertn

Hey All,

I did not have any problem to install the software but I had a hard time to the files transfered to my PC. Actually I only was able to do it once and the I couldn't do it anymore. I've been trying for months and fortunately I've found a temporary work around which allows me to transfer files from the camcorder to PC with no problem.

These were the steps taken:

1-Connect the camcorder to PC
2- Initialize Windows on a Safe Mode
3- Log as Admin
4- Click on Start\Run type msconfig

In General TAB select Diagnostic Startup click on OK

5-Restart Windows on normal mode and log as your regular user

6- Start VideoCam Suite and transfer the files from camcorder

to PC with no problem

7-Repeat step 1 to 4

In General TAB select Normal Startup click on OK

8-Restart Windows on normal mode and log as your regular user

9-Start VideoCam Suite and then will be able to work

normally with software (edit and burn DVDs)

Well, it is not best solution but at least I won't be stuck with movies inside the camera. The only inconvenient it is to have to change settings every time I need transfer files from camcorder. I think I can live with that.

I hope that can help anyone.

Cheers,

Savio Silva

hi all, i had exactly the same problem and finally managed to sort it out, here to share with u all. The AC adapter is the one looks like a battery cable which comes with the camcorder. You have to remove the battery first, and plug the AC adapter into the place where the battery was, then connect the other end to the battery charger. Now you can select the PC connect option and transfer your videos. Hope it helps. =)

Did you think to buy a FIREWIRE cable?
USB connections are only for tranfering from card, not for TAPE!

There is a download for this on the panasonic website. I had the same problem, did the download, retried and it worked. All videos downloaded. It took a LONG time but I got them.

I have the SDR-H60 Camcorder with the same issue. Windows XP Service Pac 3 is the problem that causes the VideoCam Suite Software to not work with the PC. I am also super frustrated.
