Try pushing the two buttons that have a little green circle next to them at the same time for two seconds. This should reset all the basic settings on your camera. If this still doesn't work then you should contact your local Nikon authorized service center for repairs. Hope this helps!

I have a 500mm telephoto w/ 2X adapter get ms. 'no lens attached'

You need to shoot in the Manual mode by turning the mode dial to "M". You have to set the shutter speed and aperture yourself, without any help from the camera's light meter. You can review the photo afterward and adjust the exposure accordingly. The histogram will help in this.

Oh, and you also have to focus manually.

I have a Nikon D3000 digital camera. When I turn it on the info menu is displayed on the monitor and I cannot see the image that I am shooting. When I turn the info menu off it turns black and says...

That is the factory setting. If had seen the image on the LCD before taking the picture, then there was something seriously wrong with the camera. The D3000 works as SLRs have worked for over half a century, providing you with a viewfinder to compose your photos.

Brand new D3000 camera, but LCD Monitor stopped functioning -only get shooting info and other menu functions. Tried reset button but no good

Hello

For a Nikon D3000 all you will see in "camera" mode are shooting information and menu functions. The D3000 does not have a Live View feature where you can view the "live" image via the LCD, only through the viewfinder.

In review mode, you will be able to preview the images you have already taken, however.

I have a Nikon D3000 SLR. My lens zoom should range from 18-55mm but for some reason it won't go past 24 (so is stuck from 18-24mm) I have tried everything to fix this, including changing settings and...

Whatever you do, don't force it. Unlike your camera, which has just a 1 year factory warranty, Nikon lenses are warranted to be free from defects for 5 years; and is likely still under warranty.

Contact Nikon Service to have the lens properly serviced / repaired. Having it looked at by an unauthorized repairer or even "messing with it" yourself could void the warranty.

I hope this helps! Please rate my reply - thanks!

If you've really been seeing the image before taking the shot, then there was something seriously wrong with your camera which now appears to have fixed itself. The D3000 doesn't have the LiveView feature. The screen is for the menu and reviewing images you've already taken.

Nikon D3000 Monitor is black when taking a picture - any way to change it?

You can get the shooting information on it. If you're looking to use the D3000 as a point&shoot by viewing the image on the screen, then no, you have to use the viewfinder.

Nikon Coolpix 8800 - viewing photo when using viewfinder

Hi there, thanks for coming to FixYa. My name is Rob and I can help you with that.

Take a look at the back of your camera. Just above the display screen, you can see a button that has something that looks like this |O| The button has a horizontal oval inbetween two vertical lines. Press that button when the camera is on and you will see what the camera sees in the monitor. If you press it again, it will revert back to the electronic viewfinder. If it is set to monitor, then it will always show on the monitor until you hit the button to change it.

That will solve your problem. I would appreciate a fixya rating. If you have anymore questions, or need more help, let me know in a comment.
