You should connect the sony micro device to your computer once its connected to the usb lead it should automatically in windows 7 or you might have to open it open up manually it might be listed as a mass storage device click start right click on my computer you should see your mass storage device if you dont see it
click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of the devices if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark or a red x you will need to update the driver right click on the device to update driver
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it
if you can see your usb but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver :hope this helps:

I just purchased this flash drive, a green case, and when I plug it in my computer will not recognize it.

did you try to plug it in other computer..some of the computers needs some of the drivers so that if you try to plug a device on it..and recognize that you have the driver in your computer otherwise if the driver of your flash drive didn't recognize of your computer..try to search it to your computer if it has on your computer..if not try to search the driver and install it in your computer.

I have sony micro vault 2 GB pen drive but win xp sp3. but i plug pen drive the message is flash ''usb Device not recognized'' so how can solve this problem. how can work my pendrive properly.

Goto my computer and right click, left click on properties and find device manager.
Scroll down until you find universal serial bus controllers click on the + sign, right click on 'Enhanced Host Controller', right click and choose update driver, use the internet option to download updated driver, this should hopefully resolve your USB problem.
If it does not update and the usb drivers and they seem fine, then the problem could be with the flash drive, try the drive in another computer to check that it is working.

Plug into USB port... recognizes device when I click on it from my computer tells me to format the drive... I try but the format fails.?

Is your usb drive locked? The micro vault classic has a lock switch on it. This prevents you from writing data to it. Please make sure that is not in the lock position. Then plug it back into your pc and you can go ahead and format it.

My computer is not recognizing my external usb

Try to plug it in another hub, if your computer still doesn't recognize it, try plugging it in another computer and see if that computer recognizes it. If it does, then there might be something wrong with other computer. If it doesn't, then there might be driver issues with your USB.

Is there a driver to allow sony micro vault 2.0gb on win 98?

Specs say it is compatible with Windows 98 SE. Also says no drivers are needed for it. Make sure your plug 'n play is enabled on your computer. Once it is enabled just plug the drive in & Win 98SE should install it. If it does not work then try a different usb port as maybe a port is bad. Hope this helps.
