Hi rosscop

You have a magnetic interference problem. First, have you put any magnetic objects like speakers near the set recently. They will cause this. Turn the set off at the wall and wait for 15 mins for the PTC device that turns on the degauss coil to cool and operate. It is the loud burst of hum you here when you turn the set on from cold.

Grundig TV - Colours all mixed - still have fullpi - 0083efa.jpgThe PTC is a postive tempeture coefficient that allows alot of current to flow at first, heating up as it does, and then slowly less current as it heats. This is why you need to turn the set off and let it cool. If the problem remains The PTC may be faulty allowing too much current to flow and upsetting the magnetic flux about the tube. If you dont have the skills you will need a technician to sort it out for you.

hope this helps to solve the problem. Sometimes all that is needed is an auto De Gauss of the tube(what i have suggested doing above). A tech may try a degaussing wand to resolve it also, but generally, either a nearby magnetc feild, or a fault in the PTC causes this problem to happen out of the blue. . Grundig Jumbos were notorious for colour impurity problems in the Southern Hemisphere, allegedly because the sets are manufactured in the northern hemisphere, and dont cope well with the lines of flux we have down under.

    Thanks for using FixYa.

In my onida 20cs tv, colour is gone only 2or 3 colours like violet and green appears, pls tell me how to fix it

If it looks like a rainbow of some sort and a standard picture tube set it is degaussing problem--set does this for a moment when turned on and if does not complete you get this---to prove this with set on turn the set to face another direction and see if the colors you see change or shift position.

There are things that can be done if this is the case.

Red, green and blue colours diveded on my TV

ok well "tube" tellys as they are called use an electro magnet to keep the picture stable and colours correct its called gaussing now if you have a speaker or something magnetic nearby it will stuff up the colors but only normally producing colors like purple, green, or white
if you have colors across the screen (that aren't caused by magnetic force) then you need to take it to a repairer or decide wether or not to buy a new one this issue can turn out to be quite hard to fix and can be expensive the different colored electron guns may be burning or burnt out causing pale color or it could be as simple as a power transistor in the H.V supply has shorted out..and causing power issues to the tube.
hope this helps,ben

Line across top of screen

If the picture is ok otherwise then only thing that probably needs to be done is a vertical height adjustment. That is if the lines never changes position from cold to hot.
