Concerning your problem, if your USB drive that you have to write-protect has not hardware write-protection switch enabled like
this picture, you can follow the instructions of
this link to write protect your system when plugging in a usb.
WARNING: This is a registry modification so do not follow it if you do not know exactly what you are doing.
I am not re-posting the instructions here since they appear very straight-forward to me. If you have any further questions on how to use this hack, let me know.

write-protector enable software that you can run directly so that you can achieve what you need. This can be found
