How can remove write protection on my 2gb pq1 u273 usb stick

Concerning your problem, if your USB drive that you have to write-protect has not hardware write-protection switch enabled like this picture, you can follow the instructions of this link to write protect your system when plugging in a usb.

WARNING: This is a registry modification so do not follow it if you do not know exactly what you are doing.

I am not re-posting the instructions here since they appear very straight-forward to me. If you have any further questions on how to use this hack, let me know.

The adapter has a tiny switch on the side opposite the notch near the pins.
The switch needs to be towards the pins, not away from them.

Copy all the files onto your 'C:' drive.
Spend $9 to buy a new 2GB USB memory-stick.
Copy the files to the new memory-stick.
Take a sledge-hammer to the old memory-stick -- to prevent anybody else from reading your files.

Some of these have a software companion for setting the protection status. Google "unlock" for your particular model USB stick and possible locking software such as Imation and others that you might have used, even by accident.

There is a little grey button on the side of the stick. Push it up or down.

In order to remove write-protection from the memory stick, connect it to the device in which write-protection was implemented on it then use the feature of the device to remove write-protection off the memory stick.

You should have a small notch on the memory chip itself you just need to switch that off. look closely cos this might be very small.
