I have a samsung side by side fridge and it is an RS285LA. For awhile now it has been making this buzzing sound from what sounds like to be coming from the back. This buzz sound is kinda loud cause I can hear it from 30 feet away in another room. The buzz sound only last for about a second and wont do it again for sometime. Just by guessing I would say it makes this sound about once an hour. Its sounds like something is kicking on or off. Could it be some type of relay switch or trip?

Its the relay for the ice maker.. they are loud if the don't have water going threw them, you may want to shut off your ice maker. lift the arm to the up position. that turns off the ice maker.. if'n i was of hel vote YES .. jay the pool pump repair guy in longwood fl

is your ice maker making ice sounds like water solenoid or the motor that turns the dump fingers is stuck this will happen if the heating element is not working, After ice is made the heating element comes on for a few sec.to release the ice from tray then motor comes on makes a full rotation to push ice out.

Fridge sometimes amkes a buzzing sound when motor

It is quite normal for some models to make this sound while running. As long as everything else is working properly then there is nothing to worry about.To be more precise, if the unit starts and turns itself off after a short while then the thermostat etc... are working fine.

that sound is the relay/overload. it is trying to start the compressor. the problem is either that relay or the compressor itself

Sounds like the now infamous 'fan icing up' caused by a design fault of the fridge evaporator cover assembly & evaporator heater.Contact Samsung.You may find that these components are covered by by an extended 5yr. guarantee. Good luck.I was 30 days outside.

Yesterday started hearing a buzzing sound from the fridge. Came home today with a pool of water in the kitchen coming from the fridge. Opened the freezer, ice is melted and inside is relatively warm....

Loud buzzing/Humming noise.

I have a Amana ASD2622HRW Lately there is a loud buzz that comes and goes. We cleaned everything and blew it out under and behind the fridge. And it still is happening. Any suggestions? It still cools fine. But this Buzz is so loud that you can hear it through the house. Please help!

Frigidaire side by side fridge

Power to compressor must be off (about 5 minutes) before a restart should be tried. Some of these relays are thermal and must cool down before power is reapplied.

Noise from the right side of thr fridge

I would suspect something has come loose, like a panel screw somewhere. When the refrigerator turns on its cooling system, it may be causing the rattling, due to vibration of whatever has come loose.

i don't know jennair specifically being from england.
however, there is often a fan inside the back panel and the noise you heard was the fan hitting ice. the reason now not heard and fridge not working may be that the ice has built up so much the fan is jammed
