Alinco DR-610T problem

My Alinco DR-610T worked fine last night when I installed it into my truck. It was accidentally turned on today while I was double-stick taping it to my console. I turned it back off, stuck it to the console, turned it on, and now the screen says: set up
and then goes to: --- ---

Nothing but the power button seems to work, I can't reset it.

Help?

I am certain that no buttons are stuck. I even swapped the head unit with another than I had with the same results.

I have the exact same problem. Any luck fixing it? What was it? Thanks

Are you sure that none of the buttons are stuck? If one of the buttons was pressed and remained in the pressed position it may cause this problem.

Have you checked the caqble that goes between the head and the radio. I have had radios come into my shop that have had bad cables or the cable connector on the board gets a cold solder joint. be sure to check the connector on the head and on the radio side. If this is not the problem then it's time to take it to your local ham store for service. If it's still under warranty then let the factory take care of it.

Hi guys, my alinco dj596 cannot receive but can transmite, how i solve this problem?

Hi,

Which one is it? ALINCO or MOTOROLA?

DJ 596 indicates ALINCO, and they are two totally different radio makes. Alinco is a great Japanese brand, any way to get to your query....

I'm only guessing due to lack of info from you, that you've tried the volume controls on your radio?

If so, has this problem only recently occurred or has it been present since you got the set?

This is info we need to be able to assist you.

Cheers,
Peter

Lost tranmission capabilities on one of the units, is there a way to reset. Last night it worked fine, turned of at night, tried to use this morning - no output!!! Any suggestions? Model T5420

The only way to really reset this is to remove the power/battery for 8 hours, press power button for 3 seconds, then wait 1/2 hour. Then try it again.

If you need a manual for this radio, you can view it here:

Alinco DR-635. On two meters, there is no received audio.

I think your 2M section has a dead FET in the receiver front end. The FET transistors are bad about being destroyed by ESD, as they are not gate protected. This is a repair shop job, unless you are very good with repairing surface mount technology. The 635 is a good rig, well worth the repair costs. Consider using a factory repair shop, to get the job done right. There is an Alinco group on Yahoo Groups, join them and ask where to send your radio for repair. They will know who is reliable enough to trust your treasured radio to for repair.
Good Luck,
Longshorts.

Alinco dj-v5 HT deviation adjust

To adjust the deviation of this radio, you don't have to take it apart. If you take the battery pack off, there is a sticker on the back of the radio saying Alinco. Pull that sticker off and underneath are the variable resistors. See the service manual for more details on how to make other adjustments.

First, make sure you note the present position of this pot so you can turn it back if you have to.

If you don't have any equipment to measure deviation, make a contact on the repeater and try turning the pot in small increments and ask the person to help you set the deviation so your voice sounds good through the repeater.

Once set, if the repeater has a touch tone test, go through and make sure all your tones are being properly decoded.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
