Try to uninstall and reinstall the webcam drivers and application. If it does not work, you need to have your webcam serviced. Call HP support for the replacement.
To uninstall the webcam application:
1. Press the Windows Key + R
2. Type appwiz.cpl then press ok
3. Highlight the HP Webcam application then uninstall/remove.
To un-install the driver:
1: Press the Windows Key + R
2. Type devmgmt.msc
3. Click on the plus sign beside imaging devices
4. right click on the webcam and uninstall
Restart the computer.
Load the Webcam application CD that comes with your computer. Follow the installation prompts. That should make it work.
Remove the webcam drivers and then reinstall them if this wont solve you will need to check/open the device mananger, check for the properties of the webcam and update drivers once again.
Scan the PC for virus if there are faulty files it is possible that the OS is corrupt. If not the webcam hardware might be faulty.
