You will have to replace the entire keyboard. The problem is with the circuit board that is built into and controls the functioning of the keyboard, not the individual keys. To remove the keyboard, you need to remove the plastic strip with the buttons in it, at the top of the keyboard. This strip usually just snaps into place, but some have two screws on the bottom of the machine that hold it, so if it doesn't want to lift up and snap off easily, then remove any screws directly under the strip. Once you have the strip up and off, you will see the screws that hold the keyboard.

Can not boot up computer

possible your hard drive

A hard disk failure can be catastrophic if it jeopardizes the data stored on your computer.

In addition to rendering a laptop inoperable, a failed hard disk can damage other files stored on the drive as well.

It is critical to determine whether an actual drive failure has taken place, and there are several steps to troubleshoot a drive before hard disk failure can be declared.

Unplug any devices such as printers, speakers, cameras and other external peripherals. Boot the laptop by pressing the power key.

If this does not result in a successful boot, try booting Windows in "Safe Mode."

Reboot the computer, and hold down the F8 key this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

From the menu choices, choose "Boot Windows in Safe Mode".

If the boot up progresses, then the computer is likely experiencing a software issue, not a hard drive failure.

Reset the hard drive.

This will involve turning off laptop (removing the battery is a good move, too) opening the laptop unit, and unplugging all connections and cables from the hard drive.

If possible, replace the hard drive with another drive.

This will help determine if the hard drive is causing the problem.

Plug all connections back in to the hard drive, and reboot the computer.

Repeat Step 2 if necessary.

If the computer does not reboot, the laptop is more than likely experiencing a hard drive failure and will probably have to be repaired by vendor.

hope this helps

When i open my acer 4047 just displyd for setup key f2/f12 to pres, then i press f12 to reinstall new windows but there is i dont fine any hard drive?

Seeing as this is an approximately 8-year-old laptop, if you are getting a message that no hard drive is found, you have one of two issues.

Either your BIOS has reset itself and is not looking at your internal hard disk as the boot source and the message is not hard drive not found but boot disk not found .... OR ..... your hard drive has suffered a failure and needs replacement.

Laptop when turned on is saying, non-system disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready .

This usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and fileson this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I want to change the harddisk, but I can not get the computer opened in order to so. Any suggestions?

In order to change the hard drive on this laptop you are going to have the remove the battery and the keyboard because the hard drive is directly under the keys. When you remove the battery you will see 3 screws, remove them. Open the screen and flip the laptop over to see, in the battery compartment, the keyboard release access. Insert a flexible tool and press inward to release the keyboard. Flip the laptop over and gently lift up the top part of the keyboard until it releases. You will see you have the hard drive there. Unscrew it, remove the bracket and replace the hard drive. Be careful not to loose any screws and never force a screw back into place.

If the company that made your laptop is replacing your hard drive, then they will reinstall the operating system for you. If not, things will be a bit more difficult.

Look on the bottom of your laptop. There may be a sticker that indicates what version of Windows your laptop has (had). If there is, look for something that looks like a product key on that sticker. As long as you are using the same laptop and only replacing the hard drive, that product key should still work if you re-install Windows. As for finding a disk, you will have to search around the internet for a Windows 7 installation disk. This should not cost nearly as much as buying a completely new operating system disk with the product key.

My laptop n key does't work, what do i do. it works if i press it hard

The solution may be as simple as popping the key up and then reattaching it. Most likely the key is not sitting as flat and even with the other keys. If that is the case you will want to pry the key up until it comes off and then reattach the key. doing this will realign the scissor action components of the key.
The worst case scenario is that you will need to replace the keyboard. Depending on your ability to open up the laptop,.. you may be able to do the replacement yourself,.. if not,.. you will need to take it in or send it off for repair. I have been doing electronic repair professionally for many years,.. let me know if you need further assistance. have a great evening

If i open the laptop the illuminated lines appear on the screen and i cant see a single thing and i hear the sound of hard disk which is spinning but the blank screen irritates me what i do

It's possible your laptop screen is going bad. Here's something you can try. Get an old monitor from a desktop. Power it up and hook it into the video port in the back of your laptop. Hit the Fn key and the F7 key at the same time. This tells your laptop to send the video signal to the port in the back of the laptop. If the computer works with this new monitor you may want to take your laptop into a computer repair store to have the screen replaced, or if you want to replace it yourself I can give you some advice on how to do that. If the computer doesn't work with the new monitor you may have a hard drive or mother board problem. The first thing I'd try then is to reboot the computer from your CD rom drive using a recover disk. If you can get it to boot ok from the CD rom it's probably a hard drive problem. You might be able to fix this problem by reloading windows.

If this error occurs you open the cabinet disconnected the harddisk data cable for few seconds and reconnected the harddisk data cable and bot it will work.

LAPTOP KEYBOARD

Newer laptops don't have 'springs' they use rubber or silicone pads for support.

You could try prying the key open (with a thin clip or something) being careful not to damage it or the keys surrounding it.

Check for any debris or lint. Blow on it or just turn and shake it, you might find a staple or something.
