The LCD screen is a 2.5-Inch High-Definition LCD. This 210,000-pixel high-definition semi-transmissive LCD monitor maximizes the advantages of both transmissive and reflective technologies to assure excellent visibility and high picture quality even when viewed in bright outdoor light.

The bottom half of my laptop screen is blurry and has several multi colored lines and cannot see the writing properly.

Hi,

the problem your having will be 1 of 2 things.
The more common would be the LCD screen itself, but also the possibility your data cable from the main board to the screen is bad.

Since you don't mention the model of your notebook and the screen size, its hard to determine what the cost of repair will be.

Data Cables usuallyrun under $40.00 and LCD screen run anywhere from $140 up to $500 depending on size.

Thanks

Verticle line running down the screen.Thin verticle line running down the screen.

You have a defective LCD panel. The only way to fix it is to replace the whole LCD panel. It is the most expensive part in the TV (usually $500-2500) depending the make, model, and size. It is also time consuming as you need to take the whole TV apart in order to replace that part.

Replacing screen on Olympus IR-500

I would suggest this is not going to be a viable task. at any level You taking it to pieces and then finding replacement parts. Contact Olypus for advice My guess is that a 'repair' will be near the cost of replaceing the camera. Photo stores [such as Jessops here in the UK] seel Screen protection material. this is like a heavy duty self adhesive tape- which can be cut to size for your screen. That I suggest is a low cost fix.

Multi-Swing

By rotating the display, users can use it to view their subject when taking low-angle, high-angle, and a wide range of other shots. When closed, the multi-swing display also ensures carefree portability by protecting both the lens and the LCD screen. The IR-500 is the first Olympus camera to feature a multi-swing display with 360° rotation capability. It is especially useful in Self Portrait Shooting. The multi-swing display's 360° rotation capability makes it easy to shoot self-portraits as well as other people and scenery. Users can view themselves on the LCD screen while shooting, and use the camera's Self Portrait mode to ensure optimum exposures.
