Question about Epson Stylus Photo R800 InkJet Printer

Epson Stylus Photo R800 Print Head Nozzles ??

My Epson Sylus Photo R800 Printer is giving me grief !
Prints started to lack colors, so I did a nozzle check ... sure enough ... the last color (purple?) was lacking lines on the nozzle check printout.
So I ran a the auto head cleaning program and the print head nozzle cleaning process.
All that seemed to happen was it used large quanities of ink and the nozzle check print test got worse.
Now there appears to be a heck of a mess ... which I have tried to clean up
Where does all the ink go when you do the head cleaning process?
What can I do here now ... do I need to replace the printer ?
Any help welcome.
Thanks

I too can not adequately clean or puge the print heads. Nozzle check pattern shows that the heads are clogged no matter how many times I have manually cleaned them. ( 20 or so) I have used up a whole set of cartridges trying to solve this problem. Can I replace the print head myself???

SAME PROBLEM!  So frustrating because the ink is really expensive.  I'm guessing it is a printer that needs to be used daily in order for the ink to remain unclogged.  If my printer sits for a few days without use I can guarantee you it will be clogged.  Any solutions out there?

I have the same problem and I have cleaned the nozzles multiple times. It eats up so much ink (and not equally) that it is difficult to do 2 cleanings at one time unless ALL of the ink tanks are completely full. Once one ink is low, the printer won't do the nozzle cleaning; the only option you have is to change the ink prematurely if you want to clean the heads. Even after two or three cleanings, I still had horizontal bands. I am beginnning to think the only solution is to stay away from Epson printers, especially this one.

As with the other, I have this problem. One of the 8 nozzles seems permanently clogged as resists all attempts to clear it. This also happened with my previous Epson (a StylusPhoto1200). Unless I can find a way to fix this, my next printer will NOT be an Epson.

I have this same probkem as reported above. The printer was until recently printing flawless photos. I did not use it for a while and now it is streaky. The clean nozzle did nothing, even called tech support which did nothing.

Ah yes...my R800 is doing the same thing.  I have gone through an entire set of ink tanks + just trying to clean the heads.  I am very frustrated and out some cash from the expensive inks.  I have also heard that it is expensive to send it in for repairs.  When it was working, I was happy with the prints although they tended to be dark. I did an online search and found someone who explained how to change the head, but it was too complicated for me...and too time-consuming as well.  I also have a Mac and have to use a generic driver for it.  If anyone solves the problem, I'd sure be interested...because it was not an inexpensive purchase.

Any way to clean a clogged cyan in the printer? I have cleaned around it with rubbing alcohol and dabbed the nozzle also, but when I run the nozzle check, only 1 little 1/4 inch line shows up for the whole color! Or is it time for a new printer and cost to much to fix?

Don't use nozzles clean function, besides ink consuming it can cause damages that cannot be fixed: black lines on the back side of the page that will be permanent. Instead put two photo paper together (2x260 gr) and push the two papers together into the printer while printing a motive including many colors. Do so a couple of times and the clogg usually disappears. Good luck! jonk

If you have white horizontal lines in your prints then most likely you have some blocked print head nozzles.

Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

I would like to put the cleaning process through, as i hav'nt used it for 6 months. epson stylus TX710W.

The print head clean maintenance is usually located in the printer Properties.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Epson stylus office tx610fw printer not working after being disconnected and stored for a while.

Your question seems a little vague friend - when you say it is not working are you referring to it not powering up or it just won't print? you need to be specific - if it is a printing problem it may be that the ink has dried in the nozzles - if you type Epson Stylus office tx610w cleaning kit - into E-bay search you will find that you can buy a special cleaning kit that will un-clog the nozzles and hopefully get you up and running again if that is your problem.

Try this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Epson-Stylus-Photo-R800-R1800-Print-Head-Cleaning-Kit-/120672494517?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_Printing_PrinterInkCatridges_JN&hash=item1c18a423b5

I think this covers your model if you not sure send a message to the e-bayer to check - they sell the kits for most Epson printers

PLSE HELP IM TRYING TO PRINT BUT NOTHINGS HAPPENING, IT IS ALL SET UP

test the printer first, so that we can isolate the issue. print a nozzle check to eliminate the possibility that the nozzles are clogged by dried inks. if nozzle check prints blank page or it printedr but w/ gaps or breaks, do head cleaning

Check the Print Head Nozzles: 1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder. 2. Turn off the Epson Stylus CX4400 Series. 3. Hold down the cx4400_ug.1.79.1.jpg Stop button as you press the cx4400_ug.1.79.2.jpg On button to turn the Epson Stylus CX4400 Series back on. Hold down both buttons until the cx4400_ug.1.79.3.jpg On light begins to flash, then release the buttons. cx4400_ug.1.79.4.jpg 4. Check the nozzle check pattern that prints to see if there are gaps in the lines. cx4400_ug.1.79.5.jpg 5. If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing. If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head. Clean the Print Head Nozzles: 1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the sheet feeder. 2. Hold down the cx4400_ug.1.80.1.jpg Stop button for at least 4 seconds to start the cleaning cycle, which lasts around 1 minute. cx4400_ug.1.80.2.jpg The cx4400_ug.1.80.3.jpg On light flashes throughout the cleaning cycle and stays on green when the cycle is finished. Caution:
Never turn off the Epson Stylus CX4400 Series during a cleaning cycle or you may damage it. 3. Run a nozzle check to confirm that the print head is clean. You may need to clean the print head up to 2 times. You can also turn the Epson Stylus CX4400 Series off and wait at least 6 hours. Then try printing again.

Inconsistent color, nozzles clean same ink cartridge same paper

Problem with ink continuity. Ink at head spray out, but ink at tank not flow to head. Print block color for each color. Is it perfect? Do nozzle check, head cleaning, wait for 30 minutes. Check again.
