Xbox 360 freezes up

-   I think I have the same problem.  I can start my XBox360 fine, but only a short while in to playing a game, the screen freezes.  It is sometimes followed by either a blank blue or green screen.  Resetting the box doesn't work.  The only way to reset is to turn the unit off.  Even then, it only works for about three minutes before it repeats the problem.-   chadwrench

-   same exact thing. the bottom left 1/4 circle flashes(when xbox is standing up) and the thing just sends me to the black screen where it says system error and E79. the xbox was working fine before and this was sudden, i didnt do anything to damage the console. so i called xbox support and they said to try unplugging everything and to turn it back on(possibly a harddrive failure??) so i did that and it did the same thing still. sometimes ive turned it on and no screen at all or red light showed up. other times the thing wont turn on or off. ive had the rings of death before and since my warranty is up, xbox wants me to pay 99 dollars to fix it. ya right.-   Guest
