I HAVE A MEDICAL RECORDS BUSSINESS IN MY HOME USING GATEWAY COMPUTER. THE PROBLEM THAT I;M HAVING IS THAT THERE IS A POP-UP FROM GATEWAY TRYING TO GET TO EXTEND THE WARRANCY. THIS POP-UP IS BLOCKING MY INPUT FROM RESOUCE. i'M LOSING INPUTS EACH TIME THIS POP-UP APPWEAR. PLEASE REMOVE THIS POP-UP FROM MY COMPUTER.

If after that still have the Pop up from gateway it only means one thing you really need to gateway and extend the warranty or registration of your computer because I beliave its already expired that's why that window is alwasy coming up....

(If you are using a web browser for your work and the pop-up is web-based) for temporary fix : pop-up blocker (most web browsers have them)

permanent fix : call gateway to remove the pop-up (specially if that is part of bundled applications that came with your computer)

Go to the toolbar>tools>pop up blocker>make sure the blocker is on> then down to pop up blocker settings>go down to Filter and choose High from the menu. Click Close.

Now go to toolbar>tools>internet tools>general tab and erase all cookies and temp files> click ok>Na close

Cancel all the external settings from your pc.through clicking ---mycomputer---and properties.

Go to filehippo.com and download CCleaner. Run the registry cleaner section of the CCleaner, and this should clear the pop up.

I want to know how to restore my DX4200-09 to factory settings?


· Click "Start" on your Windows desktop. Navigate through "All Programs" and "Gateway." Click on "Gateway Recovery Management."

Click "Restore" when the Gateway Recovery Management window pops up, which will take the system back to the default factory specifications. A box will pop up asking for confirmation, click "Yes" and then "Start." You may have to enter a password as well, but only if your particular Gateway had a password set.

Wait for the computer to restart. A "Restore from factory default" box will appear, requiring you to click "Next" twice in a row. Click "OK" in the box that appears next, and wait for the hard drive partition to be created. The factory default installation will then be moved over to the hard drive.

Click "OK" in the box that appears and wait for a second Gateway restart. Several minutes will pass as Windows "starts for the first time." When restarting finally finishes, a "Set Up Windows" dialog box will appear. Click "Next," followed by checking the license agreement box, and then "Next" again.

Enter a user name and picture, if desired, and a computer name. Also, customize the background wallpaper for your desktop, optionally. Click "Next."

Click "Use Recommended Settings" on the Protect Windows-based dialog box that pops up.

Set your correct date and time settings in the next box. Select your location in the following screen. Click "Next," followed by "Start" to finish.

Wait while Windows checks for your individual Gateway computer specifications and adjusts accordingly. This will likely take several minutes, so leaving your computer for a short time is fine. Windows will then prepare your hardware and finish your Gateway restoration process, including the installation of Gateway Recovery Management. Once completed, your Gateway is good to go and ready at factory settings.

I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.


Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). My gateway notebook is locked n I can't remember my user password ..help very frustrated ...I tried ctrl alt del twice to make the admin acct pop up but nothing


Try booting in safe mode.

Restart your computer.

As the computer restarts, begin pressing the F8 key after the Gateway BIOS logo appears until the Windows Advanced Options Menu screen appears.

On the Windows Advanced Options Menu screen, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode, and then press the ENTER key.

After logging on to Windows XP Safe mode, in the Desktop dialog box, click Yes.

Hello!

If you computer can go to the system, few second or more, maybe you have trouble with heathing, and clear cmos isn´t solution for that.
Than you need good expert for repair you computer.

What are some of the things i can do to beef up my gt5220


easy options
(1) buy an external hard drive
(2) up grade memory
(3) run disc clean up- click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disc clean up.
Run the disc cleanup on drive "c", be careful not to erase compress old files as you can lose some important older docs if you do.

Yahoo search takes me to other sites


Remove yahoo search using add-remove programs. ITs junk anyways and gives you more pop ups anyways. just use the regular yahoo or add the home page as an extra home page so it open to it when you open explorer. ( IE7 + 8) allows multiple Home pages.

Just like google, yahoo tool bar is added clutter.

If you want it though, just remove it like I said and try re-installing it.

I have a Gateway Laptop purchased in 2006.Serial # 0036378223. This computer warranty is expired. It has recentlty gotten dropped and damaged. I would like info on sending it in to Gateway to be fixed.

My gateway has microsoft vista home premium, and I can't download any software on it. I have microsoft office home and student 2007 and made several attempts to download it an have not been successful.


when you are about to download is there not a pop down menu from the top of internet explorer asking you for permission to allow blocked content?
