The manual for the TV would guide you. The Denon accepts many types of audio input. Consider that the audio from the TV might also be available higher up the food-chain, say, the Cable Box, and it would be cheaper and make better sense to take it directly to the Denon from THERE instead of routing it all over the room through the TV first.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

Trying to hook my lg tv to a denon avr-1707 receiver so i can have external speakers

Use the twin phono audio out on tv to twin phono audio in on Denon AVR-1707 this should work absolutely fine as long as your using an analogue input on the tv if HDMI you would need to purchase a Digitial to analogue audio converter. Hope this helps

I am not able to get audio through my HDMI cables.

It's a monitor - no audio source capabilities.

Get TV-related audio from its original source, not the TV or monitor. TV's and monitors are NOT hi-end audio sources.

Cable box, DVD, BD, games: these are potential hi-fi digital audio sources.

Can PS3 go to receiver but not to TV if reciever hooks to TV?

Sounds like you just want audio I would just use the optical audio from the PS to the Denon and assign and input and you;ll have PS video and audio on your tv and just audio at the Denon

Denon AVR1602

I know the avr 1602 well....What exactly do you mean "I have my TV cable service wired to the Denon".....Do you mean the actual co-ax cable ?....

The denon is only able to switch raw video and audio signals.

What do I mean by that ?....IF you are running your co-ax cable from your cable company directly into the back of the denon, it won't work. The Denon has an AM-FM tuner, but not a video tuner ( channels 1-121)....If this is what you are doing, then you want to run it to your samsung first ( as long as the samsung has a tuner so you can change channels ).

If the samsung operates like an old VCR, whereby you can plug the cable company co-ax cable into the back of it, and change channels with the samsung, then that is what you must do. You would then hook up the OUTPUTS of the samsing to the VCR or DVD inputs on the Denon receiver. ( use DVD inputs on the denon if the samsung has optical audio out, and use an optical cable as well for better sound ).

You would then use the Denon for the sound, and hook up your TV to the Monitor out jack on the back of the Denon.

The Denon is like a big switchbox. You plug your DVD, VCR, Satellite, video game, or what-have-you into the Denon. Then you use the denon to route the signal to your TV for the picture, and the denon takes care of the sound.

Hope this helps, and remember to always follow your owners manual.......Rob

Hooking up ipod

THe easiest way to hook an iPod or any other personal audio player to almost any audio receiver is to pick up a cable having a stereo miniplug (like the plug on your earbuds) on one end, and two RCA plugs on the other end. You should be able to get this cable from almost any electronics or discount store for under $10. The miniplug goes in the iPod's earphone jack, and the RCA plugs connect to an unused input on your receiver. Inputs marked "AUX" or "CD" are a good choice, or even a "TAPE" input. Set the iPod to about 3/4ths volume and adjust the receivers controls for desired volume.

AVR 810 Denon Receiver Sub Woofer Hookup?

Denon AVR-810 was a quite out-dated model. I had owned since 1992. It shown 'Protection' on the screen for 2 months ago and not yet been fixed. Better to replace a modern one or repair it at a reasonable costs.
