I recently just bought a new laptop (compaq presario cq56) it has a webcam and all but its says please turn on the webcam, how do i turn on the camera?

This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with Windows 7 . A webcam is built into the frame above the display screen on some HP notebooks. Since there is no power button or desktop icon for the webcam, the only way to test and use the webcam is to open a webcam application. Many of the applications used in Vista, such as CyberLink YouCam and QuickPlay, are incompatible with Windows 7. However, HP offers the MediaSmart suite for Windows 7 which includes a webcam application. HP MediaSmart Webcam can record videos, take snapshot photos, add text and animations to the image, track your movements with an avatar, and allow you to adjust the settings of the webcam. Many people use their webcam in a video chat. You can use HP MediaSmart Webcam with most third party video chat programs. To learn more, see HP Notebook PCs - How to Set Up the HP Webcam in Your Favorite Messenger for Windows 7 .

How do I set up my webcam on MSN for a C813 digitial zoom camera made by Kodak?

Kodak Easyshare C813 can only take picture, transferred pictures and video to your computer and record video. C813 cannot be use as a webcam if you'll like a kodak webcam you can check this products like Kodak S100 webcam, Kodak W100 webcam and T130 webcam. Check the website www.kodak.com/go/shop and for information about your camera you can visit www.kodak.com/go/C813.

Webcam?

i did some research on GE's web site and found no evidence at all that this model supports webcam function. Not alot of digital cameras do anymore-may be cheaper and easier to just buy a dedicated web cam and you also get the right software included

LZ7 As A Webcam

Hi,
I'm afraid it's not possible with this camera out of the box.
There *might* be some way to route video-out from the camera into your web application (if you have a video-in input in your computer), but it wouldn't be exactly easy and could prove problematic to get to work within webcam applications (msn, skype, aim, etc)

Sometimes you can select if it is a 2 way video chat or just a receive (they cant see you) Also check and see if the chat client is configured to use the webcam as its default video device.

Webcam

With the camera focus away from press the left curved button to record video. To use as a webcam hook the usb cable to your computer, and open the software that came with your computer. Press that same button and in the software you will see the webcam. Or you can use your chat program to access the webcam.
